1/2 bunch mint leaves
Ice

Steps:

  • In a large pitcher combine the rum, lemonade and mint. Pour into glasses filled with ice.

Tastes especially good with ginger-bread cookies! Be sure to spike it with high-quality dark rum. This version can also be chilled. Recipe adapted from Suzanne Lombardi from Star Cookies.

2 cups water
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup dark rum
honey (optional)
lemon slice, Rounds, for garnish
cinnamon stick candies, for garnish (swizzle stick) or cinnamon stick

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan combine water, lemon juice and sugar and simmer over low heat, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves. Stir in the rum.
  • Pour into warm mugs, garnish with lemon slices & candy swizzle sticks.

1 cup hot water
1/2 lemon, juice of
1 -2 teaspoon fresh lemon zest
1/8 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 cinnamon stick
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, peeled and sliced (cherry-tomato size)
1/2 teaspoon butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ounce dark rum

Steps:

  • In a small pot over medium heat place all ingredients except rum. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  • In a large mug pour about 1-2 fingers of dark rum. Pour contents of small pot through a strainer into the mug.
  • Sip while hot.
  • Go straight to bed.
