1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
1/4 c light corn syrup
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
10 c popped popcorn (i use my favorite butter flavored microwave popcorn, about 2 bags.)
1-1 1/2 c almonds, pecans or dry roasted peanuts

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Butter a large, rectangular roasting pan. Place popped popcorn and nuts in pan. Melt butter in medium saucepan. Stir in sugar, corn syrup and salt. Heat to a gentle boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 8 minutes, stirring only once over lowest heat possible to maintain a low, gentle boil. Remove from heat.
  • 2. Stir in vanilla and baking soda. Gradually pour over popped popcorn and nuts, coating well.Turn onto a large, greased baking pan with sides.
  • 3. Bake for 30 minutes total, stirring well after 15 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely on lightly buttered or non-stick foil. Store in tightly sealed ziplock bags.

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 (3 1/3 ounce) bags microwave popcorn, popped & unpopped kernels removed
1/2 cup salted peanuts

Steps:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil, & boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat and add the vanilla extract.
  • Mix the popped popcorn & peanuts in a large bowl. Slowly pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn and nuts. Quickly stir the hot mixture into the popcorn until evenly covered. Cool and serve.

1/2 cup white corn syrup
1 teaspoon butter flavoring
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
7 quarts popped corn
2 cups mixed nuts

  • In saucepan, combine brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup, and salt.
  • Boil for 6 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • Add flavorings, cream of tartar, and soda.
  • Pour over popped corn and nuts, mixing thoroughly.
