HOLIDAY ALMOND BARS

Steps:
- In a large bowl, cream the butter, almond paste and 2 cups sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs and extract. Gradually add flour just until moistened., Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining sugar; top with almonds. , Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into squares. Store in the refrigerator.

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350. Combine flour and sugar, cut in butter until crumbly. Press on bottom of 13 x 9 inch baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
- 2. Melt 1 cup chips with sweetened condensed milk; remove from heat. Cool slightly; beat in egg. Stir in almonds and extract. Spread over prepared crust.
- 3. Bake 25 minutes or until set. Cool Melt remaining 1/2 cup chips with shortening; drizzle over bars. Chill 10 minutes or until set. Cut into bars. Store covered at room temperature.
