1 Crusty hoagie
Mayonnaise (to taste)
Ham
Salami
Pepperoni
3 slices of provolone
Finely shredded lettuce
Tomato slices
Pepperoncini
Italian dressing (to taste)
Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper (to taste)
Crushed red pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Spread mayonnaise on each side of the hoagie bun. Layer each side of the hoagie with ham, salami, and pepperoni then layer the provolone cheese down the center.
  • Place into the broiler (on low) and cook, watching carefully, for 2 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
  • Place the lettuce down the center followed by the tomatoes and pepperoncini. Drizzle the top with Italian dressing, to taste, and a sprinkling of sea salt, freshly cracked pepper, and crushed red pepper, to taste.
  • Serve immediately. Enjoy.

Baked Italian Hoagie recipe image

This baked Italian Hoagie recipe is the perfect crowd-pleasing main dish. They're crazy-easy to put together and bake up just right!

Number Of Ingredients 6

6 hero rolls (sliced length-wise but leaving both sidesof the roll attached to each other.)
18 slices capicola hot ham
18 slices salami
1 cup banana peppers (sliced)
6 slices provolone cheese
Italian dressing (for serving)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place the rolls into a 9" x 13" baking pan, open-side up.
  • Bake the rolls for 5 minutes and remove from oven.
  • Place 3 folded slices of capicola hot ham onto the bottom of each roll.
  • Add a layer of 3 folded pieces of salami onto the sandwiches.
  • Divide the sliced banana peppers between the 6 sandwiches.
  • Fold each slice of provolone cheese in half to break into two pieces and place on top of the banana peppers.
  • Return the pan to the oven and bake for 20 minutes. Serve immediately with Italian dressing.

Quick and easy, but oh so good! A family favorite. I prefer homemade Italian Dressing (my variation of Recipe #20158, see my review there) but others in the family prefer store bought.

4 hoagie rolls
4 slices ham
4 slices turkey (optional)
16 slices hard salami
24 slices sandwich size pepperoni
4 -8 slices provolone cheese
Italian dressing

Steps:

  • Toast open sub rolls under the broiler until lightly browned.
  • Top each roll (covering both sides) with 1 slice ham, 1 slice turkey (optional), 4 slices hard salami, 6 slices pepperoni and 1-2 slices provolone cheese.
  • Place back under the broiler and heat until the cheese it brown and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and top with Italian Dressing or mayo. Serve with chips and carrot sticks.

1 boneless fully cooked ham (4 to 6 pounds)
1/2 cup water
1 can (12 ounces) cola
2 tablespoons brown sugar
15 to 20 hoagie buns, split
Lettuce leaves, sliced Colby-Monterey Jack cheese and tomatoes

Steps:

  • Place ham in a roasting pan. Score the surface with shallow diagonal cuts, making diamond shapes. Add water to the pan. Cover and bake at 325° for 1-1/4 hours., Pour cola over ham; sprinkle with brown sugar. Bake, uncovered, 30-45 minutes longer or until a thermometer reads 140°. , Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve on buns with lettuce, cheese and tomatoes.

2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 pound thinly sliced deli smoked turkey
1/2 pound thinly sliced deli ham
6 slices hard salami
1 medium sweet yellow pepper, julienned
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
1/2 pound sliced provolone cheese
1-1/2 cups guacamole

Steps:

  • Cut French bread in half lengthwise; place cut side up on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 4-5 minutes or until toasted. , In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, lemon juice and garlic; spread over bread bottom. Layer with turkey, ham, salami, pepper, onion and cheese.
