1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp finely grated ginger
½ tsp grated garlic
8 oz rinsed shishito peppers
to taste salt

Steps:

  • Whisk together the sesame oil, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic in a large bowl. Add the shishito peppers and toss to combine.
  • Let marinate for 15 to 20 minutes, tossing occasionally.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and heat a grill pan.
  • Remove the peppers from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip back into the bowl.
  • Place the peppers on the grill pan and cook, tossing every 1 to 2 minutes, until evenly charred for 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Return the peppers to the bowl with marinade and toss. Sprinkle with salt, if desired.

20 shishito peppers
⅓ cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 clove garlic, minced
