This delicious Grapefruit Margarita recipe is similar to a Paloma only it's made without soda so it's not watered down. Mexico's favorite tequila cocktail just got even better!

Sea salt (to rim the glass)
2 ounces white tequila
1 ounce grapefruit juice
1 ounce lime juice
1 ounce agave or honey simple syrup (recipe below)
Slices of grapefruit to garnish
¼ cup agave syrup (can sub honey)
½ cup water

Steps:

  • Wet the rim of a glass with a cut piece of grapefruit or lime. Pour some salt on a plate and dip the wet rim into the salt. Fill the glass with ice.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker or mason jar with ice then add the tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake until cold then strain into the prepared glass. Garnish with slices of grapefruit.

1 cup fresh lime juice
½ cup triple sec
½ cup tequila
1 tablespoon agave syrup

1 tablespoon pomegranate seeds

Steps:

  • Stir together the grapefruit juice, lime juice, triple sec, tequila, and agave syrup in a pitcher, and mix with ice cubes. Strain the cocktail into 4 margarita glasses; garnish each cocktail with a few pomegranate seeds.

1 grapefruit slice
Coarse sea salt, optional
1-1/2 ounces blanco tequila
1 ounce Triple Sec
1 ounce ruby red grapefruit juice
1 teaspoon grenadine syrup

Steps:

  • Moisten rim of 1 cocktail glass with grapefruit slice. If desired, sprinkle salt on a plate; dip rim in salt. Fill glass with ice., In an empty cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Triple Sec and grapefruit juice. Fill with ice; cover and shake until frost forms on the outside of the shaker, 15-20 seconds. Strain into prepared glass and top with grenadine (it will sink to the bottom of the glass). Garnish with grapefruit slice.

Margarita salt or kosher salt, for rimming glass
Ground chipotle powder, for rimming glass
1 small lime wedge
2 ounces tequila, preferably anejo
1 ounce grapefruit juice
3/4 ounce orange liqueur, such as Cointreau
Grapefruit twist, for garnish
Lime twist, for garnish

Steps:

  • Mix some salt and chipotle powder together on a plate. Cut a slit in the lime wedge and run it around the rim of a rocks glass and dip the rim in the salt mixture. Fill the glass with ice.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the tequila, grapefruit juice and orange liqueur. Vigorously shake until very cold and strain the drink into the rimmed rocks glass. The margarita can also be served up in a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with grapefruit and lime twists.

1 tablespoon clover or orange-blossom honey
1 tablespoon very hot water (from the tap)
2 ounces blanco tequila
1 strip peeled pink grapefruit rind plus 2 ounces fresh juice
3/4 ounce fresh lime juice

Steps:

  • In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, stir honey with 1 tablespoon very hot water (from the tap) until dissolved. Fill shaker halfway with ice and top with tequila, grapefruit juice, and lime juice. Shake vigorously until outside of shaker is cold and frosty, about 10 seconds.
  • Strain into a tall, narrow glass, such as a Collins, filled with crushed ice. Stir with a swizzle stick or straw until glass turns frosty, about 10 seconds. Garnish with grapefruit rind; serve immediately.
