1 c granulated sugar
1/2 c vegetable oil
1 2/3 c all-purpose flour
1 c milk
1/3 c cocoa, unsweetened
2 eggs
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Steps:

  • 1. Sift sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
  • 2. Stir in milk, oil, and eggs. As with regular waffles, don't over mix. Bake according to waffle baker directions.
  • 3. We eat them warm with vanilla ice cream. Delicious! And they remind us of Grandma back in the good old days, when these were a real treat for the Young family in Maine and Washington State.
