With six kids to keep an eye on, my mother relied on quick-and-easy recipes like this. Now my own family, who doesn't usually care for nuts, can't resist these chewy brownies.

2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl, combine crumbs, chocolate chips and pecans. Stir in milk until blended (batter will be stiff). Spread into a greased 8-in. square baking pan. , Bake 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

Quick and easy. A great sweet treat that takes very little time to stir together and just 25-30 minutes in the oven. This recipe came from a Bordon's Eagle Brand Milk flyer printed in 1951. I scanned the flyer and posted the original ad here. These brownies are easy to mix up and bake for the kids after school or for an office...

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 c graham cracker crumbs
1 pkg (6 ounces) chocolate chips
1/2 c chopped pecans
1 can(s) eagle brand sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 inch square pan very well. Mix together graham cracker crumbs, chocolate, and nut meats. Blend in sweetened condensed milk. Pour into an 8 inch square pan that has been greased and bottom lined with waxed paper. Bake in a moderate oven (350) until top is golden brown, about 40 minutes. Remove from oven. Allow to remain in pan for 10 minutes. Turn out from pan; remove waxed paper. While still warm cut in squares or bars. Cool.
