Satisfy both your brownie and chocolate chip cookie cravings in one amazing dessert! We mixed together our favorite Betty Crocker™ fudge brownie mix and a pouch of classic Betty Crocker™ chocolate chip cookie mix and the result is delicious chocolate chip cookie brownies. Top them with Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting for an extra-indulgent creamy chocolate finish or enjoy them without frosting for perfectly soft and classic chocolate chip cookie dough brownies. While this recipe only takes about 15 minutes to prep, make sure you have enough time to let them cool before frosting and slicing.

1 box (18.3 oz) Betty Crocker™ fudge brownie mix
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on brownie mix box for cakelike brownies
1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ chocolate chip cookie mix
Butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch
1 container Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. Make brownie batter as directed on box for cakelike brownies. Spread in pan.
  • Make cookie mix as directed on pouch. Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls evenly onto brownie batter; press down lightly.
  • Bake 28 to 32 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely on cooling rack, about 1 hour 30 minutes. Frost with frosting. For brownies, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
1 can (16 ounces) chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts
CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM FROSTING:
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1/2 cup sour cream
2-1/4 cups confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in chocolate syrup and vanilla. Gradually add flour. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. , Pour into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. , For frosting, in a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and butter; stir until smooth. Cool for 5 minutes. Whisk in sour cream. Gradually stir in confectioners' sugar until smooth. Frost brownies. Cut into bars. Store in the refrigerator.

This frosting comes from my Mom. You can use it on made-from-scratch brownies, or give boxed brownies a special touch. Very rich and VERY good!

6 tablespoons butter, softened
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup chocolate chips
1 dash vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Combine the milk, butter, and sugar together in a saucepan and bring to a boil; allow to cook at a rolling boil for 30 seconds and immediately remove from heat. Add the chocolate chips and vanilla to the milk mixture and stir until the chips are completely melted. Pour immediately over warm brownies.

2 tablespoons milk

1 ½ cups miniature chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter a 9x13-inch baking pan for the brownies.
  • Combine 2 cups sugar, 1 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup butter, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt together in a bowl. Pour brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.

1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 cups powdered sugar
3 to 4 tablespoons hot water

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray cookie sheets with cooking spray. In medium bowl, mix cookie ingredients until well blended.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
  • Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until set. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, melt chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar and 3 tablespoons of the hot water until smooth. (If frosting is too thick, add additional water, 1 teaspoon at a time.) Spread frosting over cookies.
