3/4 cup Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (3 lemons)
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (4 limes)
2/3 cup sugar syrup (see below)
Maraschino cherries

Steps:

  • Combine the whiskey, lemon juice, lime juice and syrup. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and fill two-thirds full with the cocktail mixture. Shake for 30 seconds and pour into glasses. Add a maraschino cherry and serve ice cold.
  • Sugar syrup: Put 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water in a small saucepan and cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Chill thoroughly before using.

1/2 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1/2 cup fresh squeezed lime juice
2/3 cup sugar syrup
ice cube
maraschino cherry

Steps:

  • Note: to make sugar syrup, bring 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar to a boil, simmer until the sugar is completely dissolved; chill before using.
  • Combine the whiskey, lemon juice, lime juice, and sugar syrup.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice; pour in the drink mix 2/3 full.
  • Shake vigorously for 15 seconds and strain into glasses.
  • Add a maraschino cherry and serve ice cold.

1 lemon wedge
1/2 cup superfine sugar, plus more for rims
1 3/4 cups whiskey
3/4 cup kirsch
1 cup fresh lemon juice (from 4 to 5 lemons)
4 dashes bitters
6 cups small ice cubes, plus more for glasses
8 cherries, for garnish
8 thin strips lemon zest

Steps:

  • Rub lemon wedge on rims of 8 glasses, then dip rims in sugar.
  • Combine whiskey, kirsch, lemon juice, sugar, bitters, and ice in a pitcher, stirring until sugar dissolves. Divide among ice-filled glasses, garnish each with a cherry and a strip of lemon zest, and serve immediately.

1 1/4 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
Sanding sugar, for glasses
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
4 ounces bourbon
2 cups ice cubes
orange or lemon slices, for garnish

Steps:

  • Prepare 4 glasses: Place 1/4 cup orange juice in a shallow dish. Fill another shallow dish 1/2-inch deep with sanding sugar. Dip rims of glasses into juice and then into sugar. Chill in refrigerator 10 minutes.
  • Place remaining 1 cup orange juice, sugar, lemon juice, and bourbon in a blender. Fill blender to top with ice. Blend until smooth, and transfer to prepared glasses. Garnish with orange or lemon slices.
