Number Of Ingredients 12

3 large eggs, room temperature
1-1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
4 cups finely chopped peeled ripe pears (about 4 medium)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; stir into the egg mixture just until moistened. Toss pears with lemon juice. Stir pears and walnuts into batter (batter will be thick). , Spoon into 2 greased 9x5-in. loaf pans. Bake at 350° for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks.

2 pears - peeled, cored and shredded
1 pear - peeled, cored and mashed
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 egg white, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup white sugar
¼ cup instant vanilla pudding mix
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon baking powder

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Lightly grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan.
  • In a bowl, mix the shredded pears, mashed pear, egg, egg white, water, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, sugar, pudding mix, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and baking powder. Stir the pear mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Transfer to the prepared loaf pan.
  • Bake 1 hour in the preheated oven, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

2 fresh bartlett pears, about 2 cups
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup wheat germ
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup honey
4 tablespoons brown sugar
4 tablespoons flour
2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter, melted

Steps:

  • Core and finely dice pears, but do not peel. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and soda. Stir in wheat germ. Beat egg slightly and blend with milk, oil, and honey. Add to dry ingredients along with pears. Stir until mixed.
  • Make streusel topping by combining all ingredients and mixing until crumbly.
  • Pour batter into a greased 9-inch round cake pan. Sprinkle with streusel topping. Garnish with additional pear slices, if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.

2 large ripe pears
3 tablespoons cubed peeled fresh ginger (1/8-inch cubes)
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 lemon, zest of
1 orange, zest of
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°; grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan with butter, then sprinkle it with all-purpose flour.
  • Turn the loaf pan upside down and tap out the excess flour.
  • Peel, core, and cut the pears into 1/4-inch cubes.
  • Stir the pears and ginger together in a bowl.
  • Pour the buttermilk into a measuring cup; stir in the vanilla and all the zest.
  • In another bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Using a mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar on med-high speed.
  • Add the eggs, one at a time, beating for 20 seconds between each addition.
  • Add the flour mixture alternately with buttermilk mixture, beating on low speed just until combined after each addition.
  • Fold in the ginger-pear mixture.
  • Pour the batter into prepared pan; bake for about 55 minutes, until a pick comes out clean.
  • Cool the bread in the pan for 5 minutes.
  • Invert the bread onto a baking rack; cool bread completely before covering it tightly with plastic wrap for storage.
  • The bread will keep up to 3 days at room temperature, or up to 3 weeks if frozen.
  • Thaw the bread completely at room temperature and reheat it slowly in a 300° oven about 15 minutes.

3-1/2 c flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3/4 c cooking oil
3 eggs....beaten
1-1/4 c sugar
2-1/2 c peeled pears ...chopped
1 c chopped and finely minced . italian plums...skin on, stone out.
2 tsp almond flavoring
1 c chopped walnits.........if wanted.

Steps:

  • 1. Combine the flour,baking powder, baking soda, & salt...in a large bowl. Mix well..set aside.
  • 2. Gather your washed fruit. Heat oven to 325 F. grease and flour, 2 bread pans. Set aside.
  • 3. In another bowl ..add 3 eggs,sugar, beat. Add oil, and almond flavoring....beat together.
  • 4. Peel and chop the pears, finely mince the plums, add to the second bowl. Stir till all is mixed in well.
  • 5. Mix the second bowl ingredients, into the first bowl. Make sure all is well mixed.
  • 6. Put batter int the bread pans. Bake. Check center for doneness...with a wodden toothpick..It is done if the tooth pick comes out clean. Cool pans on a wire rack 10-15 minutes... Take out of pans..completly cool again on the wire rack.
  • 7. Slice and serve....Great with just a dab of butter. Sprinkle with powdered sugar...if desired. I like to cut thick slices, then cut them in half.Serve and enjoy!!!....Nancy...9/27/12

2 or 3 fresh pears
1/2 cup salad oil
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour -- sifted
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup walnuts -- chopped

Steps:

  • Pare, halve and core pears; chop to make 1 cup. In large mixer bowl, beat oil and sugar until well blended. Beat in eggs, one at a time; add sour cream and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, soda, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add to oil-sugar mixture and continue to beat until well blended. Add nuts and pears; mix well with a large spoon. Spoon into well-greased 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes. Turn out and cool on rack.
