I found an original recipe and adapted it to my taste. I love the fluffiness of this cookie. It's soft, not hard, and crunchy. I get so many compliments on this recipe!

½ cup shortening
½ cup butter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour, or more as needed
1 (11 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Beat shortening and butter together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Add brown sugar and white sugar and beat until smooth. Add eggs, vanilla extract, and baking soda; beat until well mixed.
  • Slowly mix enough flour into butter mixture until a thick dough forms; fold in chocolate chips. Spoon small mounds of dough onto a baking sheet, about 1-inch apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until edges are lightly browned, 8 to 9 minutes.

1 cup margarine
1 cup packed brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Beat margarine, brown sugar, and white sugar together with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth and creamy. Beat first egg into butter mixture. Beat second egg into mixture along with vanilla extract.

1 cup butter
1 ½ cups brown sugar
½ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt

These are a delicious soft cookie, they remind me of banana bread. I like to sprinkle a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on them before baking if I am not dipping them in chocolate.

2 1/2 c cake flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 c shortening, butter flavor
3/4 c granulated sugar
3/4 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 c chocolate chips
1/2 c banana, mashed
1/2 c chocolate chips,melted for dipping (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 F. Sift flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream butter flavored shortening and both sugars until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs, mixing to incorporate. Stir in mashed banana.
  • 2. Add dry ingredients and mix well, then stir in chocolate chips.
  • 3. Scoop by tablespoonful onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 8 minutes until edges are light brown.

Makes it fluffy and not all greasy etc. Many people have tried these and love them. It started from an accident haha, I added too much flour thinking I was using 1/4 c. instead I was actually using 1/2 c.

1/2 tsp baking soda
1 c unsalted butter
1/2 c sugar
1 c packed brown sugar
1 tsp salt

  • 1. Pre-heat oven to 350. Whisk flour and baking soda and set aside.
  • 2. Combine butter with sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Reduce speed and add salt, vanilla, and egg. Beat until well mixed

1 c butter (2 sticks)
3/4 c granulated sugar

2 eggs
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 c semi sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • 1. This mix must chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight to produce the correct end result.
  • 2. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Set aside.
  • 3. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in mixer untill creamy.
  • 4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • 5. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
  • 6. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • 7. Now, YOU MUST CHILL THE MIX FOR AT LEAST TWO HOURS OR OVERNIGHT!!-VERY IMPORTANT!
  • 8. Heat oven to 375. Drop by scooper or spoons onto cookie sheet.
  • 9. Bake for 9-11 minutes.* *(baking for the minimum time will produce a chewier cookie)
