FLAVORFUL GREEN BEANS

Flavorful Green Beans image

Green beans are a quick-cooking vegetable to begin with but using the microwave moves things along even faster. I rely on canned green beans when time is really tight and I sometimes add extra bacon to give the dish even more flavor.-Ernestine Beoughter, Lawrenceville, Illinois

GREEN BEANS LIGHT AND FLAVORFUL

Green Beans Light and Flavorful image

Even though these are canned green beans, they don't taste like it. No one ever suspects these are canned. I always get rave reviews. If you like crispier green beans, you could use fresh or frozen and adjust the cooking time. I hope you like them.

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 can(s) italian style green beans
2 tsp dry minced onions
1 large chicken bouillon cube
2 can(s) water

Steps:

  • 1. Open cans of beans. Pour off the liquid, it tends to have a canned flavor. Rinse green beans in can twice to get all that flavor off. Pour off water. Pour green beans in a medium size saucepan. Cover with two cans of water.
  • 2. Add the chicken bouillon cube and dry minced onions. Cover and bring to a boil on high. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 30 to 45 minutes. That's it. Enjoy!
