Spicy!!!! Crock pot recipe! Yes! There is no reason you can't make these stove top. Just simmer till flavors meld and meat is tender. I also puree an optional carrot and red bell pepper for sweetness and extra nutrients for the family

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1 garlic clove, minced
1 (6 ounce) can spicy vegetable juice or 6 ounces salsa
1/2 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons chopped canned jalapeno peppers or 2 chipotle chiles in adobo, minced
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
8 hamburger buns
1 shredded cheese

Steps:

  • In a large skillet cook ground beef, onion, and garlic till meat is brown and onion is tender.
  • Drain off fat.
  • Meanwhile, in a 3 1/2 or 4 quart crockery cooker combine tomato juice, catsup, water, brown sugar, jalapeno peppers, mustard, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Stir in meat mixture.
  • Cover; cook on low heat setting for 10-12 hours or high heat setting for 3-5 hours.
  • Toast buns; spoon meat mixture over buns and sprinkle with cheese.

2 pounds ground beef
1 cup chopped green pepper
2/3 cup chopped onion
2 cups ketchup
2 envelopes sloppy joe mix
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
12 hamburger buns, split

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, cook the beef, pepper and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the ketchup, sloppy joe mix, brown sugar and mustard., Transfer to a 3-qt. slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until flavors are blended. Spoon 1/2 cup onto each bun.

4 lb lean angus ground beef
2 lb meadium to hot " heat " ground pork
3 can(s) 10 3/4 ounces - your favorite brand of tomato soup
3 medium green bell peppers, diced fine
3 medium red bell peppers, diced fine
3 medium yellow onions, diced fine
1/2 c spicy brown mustard
4 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
4 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
3/4 c packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp ground black pepper
12 clove garlic - minced
2 jar(s) plenty of hamburger buns, split
2 jar(s) canned tomatoes

Steps:

  • 1. Cook the beef and pork together in a stock pot over medium-high heat until well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Drain off any fat.
  • 2. Combine the beef, soup, green peppers, red peppers, cayenne pepper, red pepper flakes, onions, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic,vinegar, brown sugar and black pepper, canned tomatoes in a 7 quart Crock Pot.
  • 3. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 7 hours* or until the vegetables are tender. Divide the beef mixture among the buns. Enjoy!!!!!!
