FAVORITE MEAT LOAF GYROS
This is definitely a different gyro meat recipe, yet it is so good! I slice leftover meat in individual portions and freeze for any time I crave a gyro. -Sharon Rawlings, Tampa, Florida

- In a large bowl, combine the egg, garlic, oregano, kosher salt and pepper. Crumble lamb and beef over mixture; mix well. , Pat into an ungreased 9x5-in. loaf pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 60-70 minutes or until no pink remains and a thermometer reads 160°. Cool completely on a wire rack. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours., For sauce, in a small bowl, combine the yogurt, cucumber, lemon juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Cover and refrigerate until serving. , Brush pita breads with 1 tablespoon oil; heat on a lightly greased griddle for 1 minute on each side. Keep warm. Cut meat loaf into very thin slices. In a large skillet, fry meat loaf in remaining oil in batches until crisp. , On each pita bread, layer the tomato, onion and meat loaf slices; top with some tzatziki sauce. Carefully fold pitas in half. Serve with remaining sauce.

Every one here has a meat loaf recipe and this one is mine. My Dad requested this often and usually for his birthday dinner. He liked a baked potato with it and in the picture is a twice baked potato. I love green peppers, but not in meat loaf, to me it changes the flavor of the whole meat loaf so much that I don't like it at...

OUR FAMILY'S FAVORITE MEAT LOAF

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F, then oil an 8"x4" loaf pan & set it aside.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then add onions, carrots, garlic, savory, thyme & salt.
- Saute for about 3 minutes, or until the vegetables begin to soften, then add the bulghur & cook another 3 minutes, before removing from the heat & setting aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, Textured Vegetable Protein, hot water & vegetarian beef bouillon & mix thoroughly to blend.
- Add flax meal & mix thoroughly, then add the sauteed vegetable mixture, mixing by hand until well combined.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan & bake in the oven 30 to 40 minutes or until the top is lightly browned & the loaf is firm to the touch. Remove the pan from the oven & run a dull knife along the sides of the pan, then invert it onto a serving plate to release the loaf. Let sit about 5 minutes before slicing & serving.

- 1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In large bowl, beat eggs with salt pepper, thyme, nutmeg and cloves until well-mixed. Stir in milk, sour cream and breadcrumbs. Let stand 5 minutes. 3. Add meat mixture, onion, parsley, celery leaves, chives, and garlic. Mix lightly until well-blended. 4.Shape into loaf. Cover with bacon. Put on roasting pan or pan with edges to catch grease. Bake 45 minutes 5. In small bowl, mix chili sauce, mustard and brown sugar. Brush over meat loaf. Bake an additional 15 minutes. 6. Remove meat loaf from pan to avoid grease.
