Dough for single-crust pie
1-1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 large egg
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup butter, melted
Vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. On a lightly floured surface, roll pastry dough to a 1/8-in.-thick circle; transfer to a 9-in. pie plate. Trim pastry to 1/2 in. beyond rim of plate; flute edge., Spread cranberries evenly into crust; sprinkle with brown sugar and walnuts. In a bowl, beat egg on high speed until thick and pale yellow, about 5 minutes. Gradually beat in sugar. Beat in flour and melted butter (mixture will be thick). Spoon over cranberries, spreading evenly., Bake on a lower oven rack until crust is golden brown, 40-45 minutes. Cover pie loosely with foil during the last 10-15 minutes if needed to prevent overbrowning. Remove foil. Cool on a wire rack. Serve warm with ice cream.

This holiday dessert is filled with fall flavors - Pop-Tarts® Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon toaster pastries, apple pie filling and dried cranberries.

1 refrigerated rolled pie pastry
2 cans (21 oz. each) apple pie filling, peach pie filling, or combination
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 teaspoon almond extract or vanilla
4 KELLOGG'S® POP-TARTS® Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon toaster pastries
1/4 cup finely chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • 1. Fit pastry into 9-inch pie plate according to package directions. Crimp edges.
  • 2. In medium bowl stir together pie filling, cranberries, and almond extract. Spoon into pastry.
  • 3. Crumble Kellogg's® Pop-Tarts® Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon toaster pastries over top of pie. Sprinkle with nuts.
  • 4. Baked at 375°F, loosely covered with foil, for 30 minutes. Remove foil. Bake at 375°F about 15 minutes more or until golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.
