Number Of Ingredients 17

1 lb raw lean ground turkey
1 29oz can tomato sauce
1 14.5oz can diced tomatoes
1 15oz can chili beans (pinto beans in chili sauce), undrained
1 15oz can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
3/4 cup canned sweet corn, drained
4-5 canned chipolte peppers in adobo sauce, chopped, sauce reserved
2 bell peppers (in diffrent colors), chopped
1 large onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 tsp. minced garlic
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 oz VERY dark chocolate (70% + cacao), broken into small pieces
salt to taste.
Optional topping: fat-free sour cream

Steps:

  • Bring a large pan sprayed with nonstick spray to medium heat on stove. Add turkey and spread it around in the pan to break it up a bit. Cook and crumble until meat is brown and cooked through, about 6 minutes. Drain any fat or liquid, and then transfer turkey to crock pot. Add all other ingredients except for the chocolate to the crock pot. Add 1 tbsp. adobo sauce (from the canned chipoltes). Mix well to combine. Cover and cook on high for 2hrs, and then reduce heat to low and cook for an additional 3hrs. ( or cover and cook on low for 6-7hrs straight). Add chocolate and stir until pieces melt and disappear into chili. Cover and cook for 1hr longer on low. Add salt to taste. If you like, top each serving with a little sour cream.

1/4 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
1 avocado, chopped
2 tbsp. GOYA® Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 green bell pepper, chopped (about 1 cup)
1 small onion, finely chopped (about 1 cup)
2 tbsp. GOYA® Minced Garlic, or 6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 lb. ground turkey
11/2 tsp. ground cumin
GOYA® Adobo All-Purpose Seasoning with Pepper, to taste
2 cans (15 oz. each) GOYA® Low Sodium Red Kidney Beans, drained
2 cans (8 oz. each) GOYA® Tomato Sauce
Coarsely chopped fresh cilantro

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oil in medium pot over medium heat. Stir in peppers, onions and garlic; cook until tender, 5-7 minutes. Add turkey, cumin and Adobo. Cook, breaking up turkey with spoon, until browned, about 5 minutes.
  • 2. Stir in beans, tomato sauce, 1 cup water and chipotle; bring liquid to boil. Reduce heat. Simmer until chili thickens and flavors come together, about 10 minutes. Season with Adobo.
  • 3. Divide chili among serving bowls. Top with cheese, avocado and cilantro.

This recipe is a take off of the famous 2 alarm chili. I adjusted a few of the ingredients to make it healthier! If you purchase the 2 alarm chili package, most of the ingredients are there. I leave out the masa to not add the calories and carbs. I also like mine a bit sweet so I add some cooking Splenda. Hope you enjoy!

1 tablespoon seasoning salt
1/8 cup garlic, and onion blend (dried)

Steps:

  • Brown turkey meat in skillet, then drain. You can purchase the 2 alarm chili package and most of the dry ingredients are there. Combine meat, beans, tomatoes, water, and dry ingredients. Simmer on medium heat for approximately 20 minutes.

1/4 cup olive oil
1 onion, finely sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced or crushed
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons ground cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
28-ounce can plum tomatoes, drained and chopped
16 to 19-ounce can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 pound boneless skinless turkey breast, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
Garnish - sour cream, seeded red bell pepper cut into 1/2 inch dice; cilantro leaves, coarsely chopped
About 12 corn tortillas

Steps:

  • Heat olive oil. When hot add onion and cook, covered for 5 minutes or until tender. Add garlic, chili, cumin and cinnamon and saute for a few seconds. Add cider vinegar and cook a minute. Add tomatoes, and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
  • Add beans and turkey and cook for 5 minutes or just until turkey is cooked through. Don't overcook or turkey will dry out.
  • Serve with corn tortillas (or rice). To reheat corn tortillas - dip them briefly in water, then reheat on an ungreased griddle; pile them in foil and keep warm in oven or in a cloth.

3/4 tablespoon cumin
2 large cloves garlic, sliced

3/4 tablespoon dried leaf oregano
4 tablespoons coarsely chopped sweet white onions
4 tablespoons coarsely chopped green chilies
1 (14 ounce) can whole stewed tomatoes
2 whole chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
1 cup fresh corn
1 cup finely chopped zucchini
1 cup chicken stock

Steps:

  • Preferably using a cast-iron skillet, brown the turkey in the oil for 2 1/2 to 3 minutes. Add all the ingredients except the vegetables and chicken stock, and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the vegetables and stock, and cook for approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning to taste, and serve immediately.
