1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1 small bell pepper, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1/3 cup barbecue sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (6 oz)
1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
Additional barbecue sauce, heated, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Grease bottom and side of 9-inch pie plate with shortening. In 10-inch skillet, cook beef, bell pepper and onion over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. Stir in 1/3 cup barbecue sauce. Spread in pie plate. Sprinkle with 3/4 cup of the cheese.
  • In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk and eggs until blended. Pour over beef mixture.
  • Bake uncovered 25 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining 3/4 cup cheese. Bake about 5 minutes longer or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve with additional barbecue sauce.

1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 box (9 oz) Frozen Broccoli Cuts, thawed
1 jar (4 oz) sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 cup milk
1/4 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400° F. Grease 9-inch pie plate. In medium bowl, mix beef, onions, broccoli and mushrooms; spoon into pie plate.
  • In same bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk, sour cream, eggs, salt and pepper until blended. Pour into pie plate. Top with cheese.

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
½ pound cubed beef chuck roast
1 cup red wine
1 (10.5 ounce) can beef gravy
1 (15 ounce) can mixed vegetables
2 (9 inch) pie crusts
1 egg white

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat; saute the stew meat for 10 minutes, or until well browned on all sides. Reduce heat to low and add the red wine. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, allowing the alcohol to cook off.
  • Remove cover and add the gravy and vegetables. Stir well and simmer for 10 more minutes. Pour mixture into one pastry shell. Cover with second pastry shell, sealing edges and cutting steam vents in top. Brush edges with egg white. Place pie on a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 to 45 minutes.

One day I had forgotten all about a benifit luncheon I had promised to make a dish for. The only thing I had on hand was a large can of Dinty Moore Beef Stew, a can of green beans and makings for a pie crust. So I decided to make a pot pie using what I had on hand. This recipe is the results of that casserole. It was a big hit....

1-lg. can(s) dinty moore beef stew ( family size can)
1-16oz can(s) green beans .. drained
1-small can(s) peas, drained
2 Tbsp corn starch
4 c all purpose flour
2 tsp salt
1 1/3 c solid shortening
10 Tbsp ice cold water 10 tablespoons

Steps:

  • 1. Put the stew in a large bowl ... taking some of the juice out to blend in the corn starch until it is dissolved. Once dissolved, stir into the stew.
  • 2. Open the green beans and peas and drain well .. and mix them into the stew.
  • 3. Now put the flour and salt in a bowl .... add the solid shortening and cut it into the flour until it resembles a small pea.
  • 4. Add the 10 tablespoons of water and blend with a fork until it forms a ball and leaves the sides of the bowl. Divide into 2 balls. Roll one ball out so that it will fit a large deep casserole dish. Bringing the dough up the sides and over the edge slightly.
  • 5. Fill the dish with the stew mixture. Spreading out evenly. Roll the 2nd ball out to fit over the top .. Bring the bottom crust over the top and pinch a scalloped edge around the dish. Cut a couple of slits in the middle for steam to escape.
  • 6. Brush the crust with an egg wash. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown. Let the dish set for a half hour before serving.

1 tablespoon oil
500 g beef mince
1 onion, finely chopped
1 carrot, finely diced
1/2 cup frozen peas
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup plain flour
1/2 cup Guinness stout or 1/2 cup beer
fresh ground black pepper, to taste
500 ml beef stock
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 200ºC. Heat oil in a frying pan.
  • Add mince, onion & carrotand cook for 5 mins or until meat has browned.
  • Add peas, Worcestershire sauce & flour and cook for for 1 min, stirring.
  • Add Guinness and stock, bring to the boil, stirring, and cook for 5 minutes until just thickened.
  • Season to taste with pepper.
  • Divide mince between four 2-cup capacity ovenproof dishes.
  • Cut pastry into circle to overlap ramekins & place on top of each pie.
  • Bake for 20 mins or until golden.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes & vegetables.

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed cream of potato soup
1/2 lb beef caps, cut for stir fry
2 medium carrots, cut half inch thick
2 stalks celery, same as carrots
1/2 medium yellow onion, chopped fine
1/2 cup broccoli floret, raw
1 1/2 cups milk
1 egg
1 cup biscuit mix
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup flour
2 1/2-3 tablespoons oil

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Dredge beef in flour, brown in oil.
  • you do not have to cook beef entirely. Set aside in large bowl.
  • Combine all veggies except onions, soups, l cup milk, salt, pepper, basil with beef tips in large bowl. Mix well. Set aside.
  • Do not rinse or drain oil from pan, saute onions in same pan with beef juices, aprox. 5-7 mins on medium-high heat. Onions should be slightly opaque and soft. Mix with veggies and beef.
  • In a 8X8 baking dish pour veggie mix.
  • Combine rest of milk, egg, and biscut mix in another bowl. Combine thouroughly.
  • Make sure soup and veggie mixture is evenly smoothed out. Pour biscut mixture over top.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for at least 25 minutes Top should be golden and filling completely heated through. Cook an additional 5-10 minutes if you wish for a more golden crust.
  • You may need a cookie sheet under baking dish.

1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
16 ounces salsa
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or 2 cups taco cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Press crescent rolls into a greased 9 x 13" pan. (Do not separate the rolls). Press the perforated edges together to create "crust.".
  • Cook beef, onions, salt, pepper, and chili powder in skillet over medium heat until meat is browned. Drain any excess fat.

2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
2 Tbsp. flour
1 cup water
1 can (8 oz.) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • Brown meat with onions in large skillet; drain. Add peas and carrots, potatoes and cheese sauce; mix well. Spoon into 12x8-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Melt butter in small saucepan on low heat. Add flour; stir with whisk until blended. Cook 2 min. or until bubbly, stirring occasionally. Gradually stir in water. Cook and stir on medium heat until mixture boils and thickens. Simmer on low heat 3 min. Pour over meat mixture.
