2 tablespoons butter
2 bananas, sliced
1 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 pinch salt
2 scoops ice cream (vanilla or something more exotic like praline or wattleseed)

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  • Add sliced bananas and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Add brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Lower heat and continue cooking, stirring constantly for 2 more minutes.
  • Serve over a scoops of ice cream.
  • Note: 1 oz of booze may be added during the last 2 minutes of cooking (Rum works well), add with the pan off of the heat- Beware of flaming.

4 small bananas, peeled
1/2 cup sugar-free maple syrup
2 cups fat-free frozen yogurt
fat-free whipped topping

Steps:

  • Peel Bananas and place in a non-stick skillet. Pour syrup over the bananas and bring to a simmer.
  • Continue to cook bananas, spooning syrup over the top for 3 minutes.
  • Turn off heat and cover to keep warm.
  • Spoon frozen yogurt into four dishes or bowls. Gently place a warm banana on top of the frozen dessert, spooning the syrup on top.
  • Garnish with whipped topping and serve to four very happy people.

2 tablespoons salted butter
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
2 bananas
1/4 cup bourbon
1 pint vanilla ice cream
1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Stir in the orange juice, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice and bring to a simmer. Slice the bananas and add to the skillet, stirring to coat. Saute until the bananas are tender and the sauce coats them, 2 to 3 minutes. Turn off the heat and add the bourbon. Light the liquid in the skillet with a click lighter and flambe, allowing the flames to subside. Turn on the heat and cook about 1 minute. Serve in bowls, warm, over vanilla ice cream with a sprinkle of nuts.

Super easy using store bought cheesecake! I usually buy the small 6 inch New York cheesecake. The bananas are equally good on lots of other things too, including ice cream and/or waffles.

2 bananas
1/4 c unsalted butter
3/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp rum extract (or rum!)
1 tsp banana extract (or cream sherry)
4 slice store bought new york cheesecake

Steps:

  • 1. Peel bananas and cut into 1/2-inch slices; set aside.
  • 2. In a saute pan, melt the butter with sugar and cinnamon, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes. Stir in the lemon juice and extracts. Add the bananas and gently stir 1-2 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Serve immediately over cheesecake.
