8 hot dogs
8 English-style hot dog buns
Chili, recipe follows
Slaw, recipe follows
Ketchup
Mustard
Chopped onions
10 pounds ground beef
12 cups tomato juice
4 cups dehydrated onions
1 cup chili powder
2 tablespoons mustard
1 head green cabbage
2 cups coleslaw dressing, such as Duke's

Steps:

  • In a skillet over medium heat, grill the hot dogs and toast the buns until golden. Dress the hot dogs with the Chili, Slaw, ketchup, mustard and chopped onions.
  • In a large stockpot set over medium heat, add the beef, tomato juice, dehydrated onions, chili powder and mustard. Simmer for 3 hours.
  • Place the cabbage in food processor and pulse to coarsely chop. Mix in the dressing and chill until ready for use.

4 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 onion, chopped fine
1 -2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons ground cumin
6 tablespoons chili powder
2 cups water
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package chili seasoning mix

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef in skillet and drain fat.
  • Add all ingredients and combine in crockpot, stirring to mix thoroughly.
  • Cook on high for 2 hours.
  • Stir well, reduce heat to LOW and continue cooking for 6-8 more hours.
  • Enjoy!

4 lb good lean ground beef
1 large sweet onion chopped
2-6oz can(s) tomato paste
1 tsp garlic powder
1-46oz can(s) tomato juice (large can)
2 tsp black pepper
4 tsp salt (adjust as needed)
6 bay leaves
6 tsp chili powder
6 tsp paprika
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1/2 c sugar or splenda
1 Tbsp red pepper flakes
32 oz tomato sauce

Steps:

  • 1. In a large heavy pot, add chopped onions and hamburger, break up. Cook till hamburger is browned.
  • 2. Add remaining ingredients.
  • 3. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a low simmer. Cook uncovered for 3-4 hours.
  • 4. Turn heat off and let sit for 15 min.
  • 5. Very important step....use stick mixer to break up sauce and make smoother, you do not want any lumps or chunks.
