Number Of Ingredients 4

36 strawberries (about two 1-pint baskets), unhulled
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (about 9 ounces)
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening
1 1/2 cups chocolate sprinkles (about 6 ounces)

Steps:

  • Line large baking sheet with waxed paper. Wipe strawberries clean; dry with paper towels.
  • Stir chocolate chips and shortening in top of double boiler set over simmering water until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth. Place chocolate sprinkles in shallow bowl. Holding 1 strawberry by its green top, dip 3/4 of berry into melted chocolate. Let excess chocolate drip off, then dip into chocolate sprinkles. Place on waxed-paper-lined sheet. Repeat dipping remaining strawberries into chocolate, then into sprinkles. Refrigerate until chocolate coating is firm, about 1 hour. (Can be prepared 8 hours ahead. Keep refrigerated.)

6- 1/2 inch thick pieces of brioche or challah bread
3 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup maple syrup
4 eggs
Pinch cinnamon and nutmeg
1/2 cup sliced almonds
Seasonal fruit
1/4 cup chocolate chips
Powdered sugar
1 stick sweet butter

Steps:

  • Mix the first 6 ingredients together in a large shallow bowl. Slice the strawberries and set them aside. Heat up the skillet and put a nice amount of butter on it so it is nicely coated. Dip the bread in the milk batter and then dip it into the nuts and then dip the bread in the battter again and then put it right into the hot skillet and cook for a couple of minutes or until it's golden brown then flip and repeat for all pieces, try to keep warm. Place french toast on a plate and place sliced strawberries, bananas or other seasonal fruit on top. sprinkle with powdered sugar and/or chocolate chips. Serve with maple syrup;

1 1/3 c hershey's premier white chocolate
2 Tbsp shortening
1 c hershey's semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 c fresh strawberries, rinsed patted dry and chilled

Steps:

  • 1. Cover tray with wax paper. Place white chips and 1 tablespoon of shortening in medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave at HIGH (100%) 1 minute; stir unil chips are melted and mixture is smooth, If necessary, microwave at HIGH for additional 30 seconds at a time, just until smooth when stirred. Holding by the top, dip 2/3 of each strawberry into white chocolate chip mixture: shake gently to remove excess. Place on prepared tray: refrigerate until firm, at least 30 minutes. Repeat Microwave procedure with chocolate chips in a clean microwave-safe bowl. Dip 1/3 of each berry into chocolate mixture. Refrigerate until firm. Cover. Refrigerate leftover strawberries.
