HOMEMADE DOG BONES
This recipe is for my friend Bobbi Auttonberry here @ Just A Pinch, it is a recipe that she can make for her dog. Now that I have converted her husband to like Fried Cabbage Mama's Way, & Mama's Buttermilk Cornbread, the dog doesn't get left over corn bread any more. So here is a recipe for the dogs. My dog Diamond loves them & I hope yours will too. This recipe makes a lot, so you may want to cut it in half the first time you make them, just to make sure. I do not use my dog bone cookie cutter anymore, I just roll them out by hand. When I have a few minutes to spare I like making these.

Steps:
- 1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 300 DEGREES F. Mix all ingredients together & shape into dog bones, or any shape you like. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet & Bake At 300 degrees F. for one hour. Makes about 48 bones.
- 2. This recipe is also in my cookbook, and I have made it quite a few times when ever I have the time.
- 3. Please note: If you have a small dog and make the bones smaller, you may be able to get 48 pieces. But my dog is larger, so I made the bones accordingly, and I got 28 pieces, and she loves them.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease baking sheets, or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk the whole wheat flour and baking powder together until thoroughly combined, and stir in the cooked turkey meat and dried cranberries. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture, and drop the egg into the center; pour in the olive oil and about 1/2 cup of chicken broth. Mix into a soft dough. If mixture is too dry, mix in more chicken broth, about 1 tablespoon at a time, until dough is of desired consistency.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured work surface, and knead for 1 to 2 minutes. Roll the dough out 1/4 inch thick, and cut out with your favorite cookie cutters.
- Bake until the treats turn brown, about 25 minutes. Turn the oven off, and leave the dog treats in the oven an additional 30 minutes to dry out. Refrigerate leftover dog treats.

HUMAN DOG BONES- A TREAT FOR ALL PEANUT BUTTER LOVERS
This is a great recipe that kids love to help make. I learned this recipe in elementary school. It is a very simple and delicious after school snack. I know it sounds a little strange at first, but just try it and you'll understand why everyone should eat dog bones.

DOG BONES FOR DOGS (MY ORIGINAL RECIPE)
When I lived in Gaithersburg, Md, I made these in all flavors for my dogs Brandon and Reno. When I moved to Ohio, I lost this recipe, so was very glad I shared it with Mark! He gave it back to me. Therefore, this was the original recipe, and I have found others since, but this one brings back memories of wonderful dogs I loved and have since lost, waiting at the oven for a taste! Brandon even figured out how to drag the hot cookie sheet with his nails to spill the treats on the floor! That's high recommendation!

Steps:
- 375 degree oven. Mix flour and soda. Mix broth, margarine and vanilla. Stir broth into flour, knead briefly. Roll to 1/4 inch thick, cut and bake 15-20 min. Makes 2 dozen My original recipe! Thanks to Mark! -) Have substituted beef broth or peanut butter for chicken broth. Used to make these for Brandon and Reno when I lived in Gaithersburg. They loved all flavors!
- Triple Recipe with Broth of either flavor: 3 c whole wheat flour, 3 c flour, 3/8 t soda, 1 1/2 sticks butter, 2 c chicken or beef broth (no msg), 6 t vanilla.
- Triple Recipe with Peanut Butter: 3 c whole wheat flour, 3 c flour, 3/8 t soda, 1 1/2 stick margarine, 3 c peanut butter then added water to make stick. This dough I made into balls like regular peanut butter cookies, and used a fork to flatten. They are just adorable!
- NOTES: #1: Tori made them with me 1-25-19, a batch of chicken then the peanut butter. Her idea was to add cheese to the chicken or beef ones. I am thinking parmesan, small amount, in chicken one...or maybe adding carrots? #2: I thought maybe we could make it with pumpkin in place of the broth or peanut butter. #3: Could I make this with gluten free for kona, with rice flour instead of either other flour? Maybe one with oatmeal in place of a flour? So like rice flour and oatmeal...
