Fresh Herb Rub image

This rub is a combination of many different recipe. Not only you can use as a rub for meat but also it tastes wonderful on summer squash.-Taste of Home Test Kitchen, Greendale, Wisconsin

Yield about 1/3 cup.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
2 tablespoons minced fresh oregano
1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary
1-1/2 teaspoon minced fresh thyme
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Cayenne pepper to taste, optional

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Rub over chicken, salmon steaks (about 1 tablespoon for each serving) or sprinkle over lightly oiled vegetables (such as summer squash, onions and sweet red peppers). Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Grill or broil as desired.

Paprika Dry Rub image

A friend gave me the recipe for this delicious dry rub. I love the tongue-tingling punch it gives poultry. -Jackie Kohn, Duluth, Minnesota

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup kosher salt
1/3 cup garlic salt
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine all ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 1 year. Use as a rub for turkey or chicken.
