Number Of Ingredients 7

2/3 cup butter or 2/3 cup margarine
5 ounces unsweetened chocolate, cut into pieces
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup flour
1 cup nuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Heat butter and unsweetened chocolate over low heat, stirring constantly, until melted; cool slightly.
  • Beat in sugar, vanilla and eggs in a 3 quart bowl on high speed 5 minutes.
  • Beat in chocolate mixture on low speed.
  • Add flour; beat just until blended.
  • Stir in nuts.
  • Spread in greased 9x9x2" square pan.
  • Bake just until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan, 40 to 45 minutes.
  • Cool.
  • Cut into about 2" squares.

These deluxe brownies have a great texture. It's somewhere between a fudgy chewy brownie and a cake-like one.

4 oz unsweetened chocolate (chopped)
8 tbs unsalted butter (cubed)
1 tbs espresso powder
2 tbs unsweetened cocoa
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup flour
3/4 cup toasted chopped walnuts (see NOTES)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven. Coat an 8-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
  • Melt the chocolate, butter, cocoa and espresso powder, either in a microwave or over low heat in a saucepan. In a microwave, do it on high for about 30 seconds each time then stir. When the chocolate is nearly all melted, stop and keep stirring until it's smooth.
  • Stir in the sugar, vanilla and salt. Add the eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition.
  • Fold in the flour and walnuts. Spread batter in the prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean; about 30 minutes.
  • Cool completely then cut into squares.

This recipe is double delicious and double chocolaty! Moist and gooey! Blond bars are good too- just omit the cocoa powder. I love using Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk!

CRUST:
1 c all purpose flour
1/4 c granulated sugar
1/2 c butter, cold
BATTER:
14 oz can sweetened condensed milk(eagle brand)
1/3 c baking cocoa powder
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/3 c honey
1/2 c all purpose flour
TOPPING:
3/4 c chopped walnut pieces
1 c chocolate chips
1/2 c heavy cream

Steps:

  • 1. Oven temperature 350^. Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil so that it hangs over on the ends. Butter foil or paper. Crust: Combine ingredients until crumbly. Press into bottom of pan and bake for 15 minutes. Set aside.
  • 2. Batter: Beat together the sweetened condensed milk,egg, vanilla and honey ,until well blended. Combine the cocoa, baking powder and flour. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and beat well. Pout mixture over the crust and bake about 25-35 minutes ;until center is set. Cool on wire rack for 15 minutes. Loosen sides of bars in pan and lift out onto wire rack to cool.
  • 3. Topping: In a small saucepan combine the chocolate chips and the cream. Heat over medium-low flame until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth. Pour over cooled bars on rack and sprinkle nuts over all.
  • 4. Note: You can cut and place on individual serving plates and drizzle each with chocolate mixture and sprinkle with nuts, if desired.
