Number Of Ingredients 18

1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup minced onion, more to taste
3 eggs, divided
1 (12 ounce) can beer, divided
1/2 teaspoon garlic granules
2 1/2 teaspoons salt, divided
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper, divided
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/3 cups flour
peanut oil or canola oil (for deep frying)
1 cup mayonnaise (Best Foods or Hellman's)
1/2 cup prepared mustard
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon sweet paprika

Steps:

  • Mix ingredients for Mustard Sauce until well blended, and refrigerate until needed.
  • Prepare meatballs by mixing together ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, 1 egg, 1/4 cup beer, granulated garlic, 1 Tsp salt and 1/4 Tsp pepper.
  • Form into 3/4" meatballs, and set in refrigerator or freezer to firm up, but do not allow to freeze.
  • Beat together 3/4 cup beer, 2 eggs and olive oil.
  • Add flour, baking powder, and remaining 1-1/2 Tsp salt and 1/4 Tsp pepper, stirring until thoroughly blended.
  • Heat about 3" of oil to 350 degrees F in a deep pan or deep fryer.
  • Coat each meatball with batter and fry until golden brown.
  • Cook only a few at a time to keep oil temperature even.
  • Drain on paper towels, and keep warm.
  • Serve warm with Mustard Sauce for dipping.

½ pound ground pork
½ pound ground beef
¼ cup rolled oats
¼ cup milk
1 large egg, lightly beaten
¾ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, diced
⅔ cup pure maple syrup
¼ cup prepared yellow mustard
2 tablespoons ketchup
½ teaspoon hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)
¼ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Combine ground pork, ground beef, oats, milk, egg, salt, garlic powder, and pepper in a large bowl. Shape into 24 meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook meatballs until evenly browned, about 8 to 10 minutes. Place meatballs into an 8x8-inch casserole dish and scatter onion over top.
  • Combine maple syrup, mustard, ketchup, hot pepper sauce, and salt for sauce in a medium bowl. Pour over meatballs and toss to coat.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until set and cooked through, about 30 minutes, stirring halfway through.

18 ounces ground beef
1 large egg
5 tablespoons oats
¼ cup diced onion
¼ cup grated apple
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
1 teaspoon minced fresh thyme
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
½ teaspoon granulated garlic
4 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon German stone ground mustard

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Combine ground beef, oats, egg, onion, apple, cream, maple syrup, thyme, salt, pepper, and garlic in a bowl; mix until well combined. Roll beef mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  • Stir together 4 tablespoons maple syrup and mustard in a small bowl and brush meatballs with the glaze.

1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef
1 slice whole wheat bread, crumbled
1 small onion, chopped (1/4 cup)
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 1/2 teaspoons beef bouillon granules
1 cup water
1 cup fat-free (skim) milk
3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon lemon juice
3 cups hot cooked noodles

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Spray broiler pan rack with cooking spray. In large bowl, mix ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, 1 tablespoon mustard, the salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper. Shape into 24 (1 1/4-inch) balls; place on rack in pan.
  • Bake uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink in center.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, mix flour, cornstarch, bouillon granules and water; stir in all remaining ingredients except noodles. Cook uncovered over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir 1 minute. Add meatballs; stir gently. Serve over noodles.
