This is just like spicy chicken wings, only less work. Cooks up nicely in the slow cooker! A quick meal that is super easy and oh so yummy! For crispier chicken, bake in a 400 degrees F oven for the final 30 minutes.

12 chicken drumsticks
1 (5 ounce) bottle hot red pepper sauce
¼ cup butter, cubed
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
salt and pepper to taste
1 ½ cups blue cheese salad dressing

Steps:

  • Place the drumsticks in a slow cooker, and sprinkle evenly with pieces of butter. Pour the hot sauce over the chicken, then season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Cover, and cook on High for 3 hours, or until tender. Serve chicken legs with blue cheese dressing on the side.

nonstick cooking spray
4 chicken drumsticks, skinned*
1/2 cup picante sauce
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot) or 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, crushed
1 bay leaf
2 teaspoons olive oil

Steps:

  • Lightly coat an unheated 3- or 3 1/2-quart slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • Place chicken in the bottom of the cooker. In a small bowl combine picante sauce, pepper sauce, paprika, thyme, and bay leaf. Spoon over chicken in cooker.
  • Cover and cook on low-heat setting for 6 hours or on high-heat setting for 3 hours.
  • Transfer chicken pieces to a serving bowl. Remove bay leaf from sauce in cooker; stir in the oil. Spoon sauce evenly over the chicken. Cover and let stand for 10 minutes to absorb flavors.
  • To serve, spoon 1 teaspoon sauce over each drumstick. Discard remaining sauce.
