Number Of Ingredients 16

5 lbs country-style pork ribs
1 cup chopped celery
2 cups chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup yellow mustard
1 cup barbecue sauce (I used John Boy and Billy's hot & spicy grillin' sauce)
1 cup water

1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes

Steps:

  • While I boil the pork for 20-30 minutes to decrease fat, I mix all other ingredients together in a large enough bowl and stir to mix well.
  • Put pork in the crock pot, adding sauce as you go, until you get to about an inch from the top.
  • Use as much sauce as you can as it will be needed later to put over the rice.
  • With a big spoon, give a stir to blend all together.
  • Put on the lid, turn on high and let it cook for about 5 hours.
  • After that, you may want to keep it a little longer on low to keep it hot.
  • Serve this with some white rice, baked beans (or just pork& beans), cole slaw and some toasted garlic bread and you have yourself a meal.
  • Be sure to use lots of the sauce over the pork and rice.

TEXAS STYLE FALL OF THE BONE CROCK POT PORK RIBS

Texas Style Fall of the Bone Crock Pot Pork Ribs image

Make and share this Texas Style Fall of the Bone Crock Pot Pork Ribs recipe from Food.com.

Provided by chilady61

Categories     Pork

Time 5h20m

Yield 10 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

cryovacor any brand pork ribs
1/4 cup favorite dry rub seasonings
1/4 cup barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • This recipe is so simple and easy and tastes so delicious. I use the cryovac Kansas City style pork rib slabs, but any style would work except boneless pork ribs. With those you would need some kind of rack in the bottom of your crock pot so they don't rest in the accumulation of fat and juices while cooking. Rub the rack of ribs with your favorite dry rub. If you don't have a favorite, you can make a quick dry rub with seasoned salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder and onion powder (or any combination of those). You can do a marinate over night, but I like the way the dry rubs taste. For easier clean up use a crock pot liner. Place the ribs in the crock standing on their side. No need to add any liquid. Cook on low for 8 or more hours, or on high for 5 hours. The ribs are done when you see them pulling away from the bone. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Remove the ribs carefully from the crockpot and place on a flat pan, meaty side up. Brush or pour on and spread BBQ sauce, as much or as little as you like. Cook in oven for 10-15 minutes, just long enough to carmelize the sugars in the sauce. Remove from oven, slice into servings. Serve with potato salad, ranch beans, pickles and onions. Yummy!

CROCK POT COCONUT SPICE COUNTRY PORK RIBS

Crock Pot Coconut Spice Country Pork Ribs image

I had some coconut milk left over from another recipe so I threw this together and it said "YES" to me so I'll post it and you can decide if it is a "yes" or "No" recipe for you. The number of servings depends on the size of your appetite

CROCK POT BBQ PORK BACK RIBS

Crock Pot BBQ Pork Back Ribs image

I am not the greatest at cooking ribs on the grill unless I par boil them first. This recipe is always a hit and turns our wonderful, tender and delicious every time I make it.

Provided by Janet Crow

Categories     Ribs

Time 18h

Number Of Ingredients 8

2.5-3 lb pork back ribs
your favorite bbq sauce
3 Tbsp all purpose seasoning (recipe below)
2 Tbsp smoke paprika
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp adobo
1 tsp black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all the ingredients for the all purpose seasoning, store in an airtight container and use as needed.
  • 2. Cut the ribs in half and rub them all over with the all purpose seasoning. Place them in a ziploc bag and put in the fridge overnight. When ready to cook, place the ribs on their sides in the crock pot with the meaty side facing the outer part of the crock pot (I used a 4 quart crock pot for mine). Pour in any juice left in the ziploc bag. Pour 3/4 C. of BBQ sauce over the top of the ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours, spooning the sauce over the ribs every so often as they cook.
  • 3. When you are ready to serve them, cover a baking sheet with tinfoil, turn the broiler on high and carefully remove the ribs to the baking sheet. Brush with a little more BBQ sauce and pop under the broiler to 2-3 minutes to add more color to the ribs. This is really optional, I do not always do it unless we have company coming for supper.

COUNTRY STYLE PORK RIBS IN A CROCK POT

Country Style Pork Ribs in a Crock Pot image

The secret of this - brown ribs before you put them in the crock pot! Brown food tasts good - food can't get brown in a cockpot. I suggest if you are cooking this on a week night and have to go to work the next day. Prep this the night before and put it all in the cock pot as you are walking out the door the next day!

Provided by Malinda Coletta

Categories     Ribs

Time 9h15m

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 lb country style pork ribs
1/2 lb tomatoes
1/4 lb peppers, red orange and yellow
1/4 lb mushrooms any type fresh or dried
2 medium onions
2 tsp dried thyme
1 c red wine
2 Tbsp oil
4 clove garlic chopped
salt to taste

Steps:

  • 1. If you are using dried mushrooms please soak in water and set aside.
  • 2. Heat a large skillet on high, add oil. Let the oil get hot - add garlic and ribs. Do not move the ribs untill you think they are browned - check ONE if you are not sure. If you move the meat in the pan it will never brown. Turn ribs and brown on other side.
  • 3. Remove and place in crock pot.
  • 4. Add onions, peppers, and mushrooms to pan. If you are using dried mushrooms drain before using!! Add salt to taste. Cook for about 5 - 7 minutes.
  • 5. Add red wine and deglaze the pan. Move the veg around and be sure the brown stuff from the bottom the pan is coming up, this is where the flavor is!
  • 6. Add all this liquid , and veg to the crock-pot, now add the tomatoes and dried thyme. Allow to cook in your crock-pot for 8-10 hours or store in refrigerator and cook in crock-pot the next day.
