FRESH CRANBERRY COSMO

Yield 1 cocktail

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 ounce vodka
2 1/2 ounces Cranberry Granita, recipe follows
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
2 cups water
5 1/2 ounces cranberries, approximately 1 1/2 cups, washed and sorted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon lime zest

Steps:

  • Place all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker and shake until the granita melts completely. Pour into a martini glass and serve immediately.
  • Place the water, cranberries and sugar into a small saucepan, set over medium-high heat and simmer until the berries begin to pop, approximately 7 minutes. Remove from the heat. Puree with a stick blender, blender or food processor, for 1 minute. Pass the mixture through a fine mesh strainer directly into a metal 13 by 9-inch pan. Do not press on the skins. Simply allow the juice to drip through the strainer. Add the zest and stir to combine. Place in the freezer until set, at least 6 hours and up to overnight. Once frozen, scrape the mixture with a fork to create a shaved ice texture. Serve immediately.

4 cups vodka
2 cups frozen limeade, thawed
1 cup orange liqueuer, such as Triple Sec
1 cup cranberry juice
1 bottle sparkling wine (750 ml)
1 bottle club soda (1 liter)
Lime zest

Steps:

  • Chill all ingredients before mixing punch.
  • Stir together vodka, limeade, orange liqueur, cranberry juice, sparkling wine, and club soda in a large pitcher or punch bowl; add ice. When punch is very cold, remove unmelted ice.
  • Serve punch garnished with strips of lime zest.

Such a pretty drink to have in your hand for holidays or for get togethers. Serve in a pretty glass or a small cocktail glass. I enjoy these in a larger glass on the rocks in the summer.

2 oz cranberry juice (i like ocean spray diet)
1 oz fresh lime juice
5 oz club soda, seltzer or citrus sods like 7-up
splash oj
lime wedges for garnish, or orange peel for garlish
sugar for frosting glass (optional)
ice

Steps:

  • 1. Pour ice into a shaker or tall glass.
  • 2. Add cranberry juice, fresh lime juice and club soda. Shake to combine.
  • 3. Run a lime wedge over the outside rim of a chilled martini glass. Pour sugar onto a small plate or flat surface.
  • 4. Dip the rim of the glass into sugar until covered with a thin border.
  • 5. Strain carefully into a chilled martini glass. Add a splash of OJ Garnish with lime or orange peel.

This is the recipe I created. It Is the perfect any time cocktail. This martini has the perfect balance of Sweet and sour. I designed this martini to make by the pitcher. I made this for a party. It was a huge hit. I had to make three pitchers of it. It all went. That says a lot. Considering, Only 5 people were drinking...

2 c fresh or frozen cranberries thawed
1 3/4 c cranberry juice cocktail
1/2 c water
1/3 c sugar
1/4 c lime juice fresh or other
1 tsp orange zest
NOTE : FOR A LESS STRONGER MARTINI. REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF VODKA AND ORANGE LIQUOR BY 1/4 CUP EACH
1 c vodka ( i used grey goose.
3/4 c clear orange liquor such as patron, grand marnier or other
OPTIONAL GARNISHES
1/4 c sugar for rims of glasses
1/4 c cranberry juice for dipping rims of glasse
16 - 20 cranberries
and orange peel curl, a lime cut into wedges or orange peel
EQUIPMENT
Equipment a sieve, shaker with built-in strainer , and a blender
ice cubes

Steps:

  • 1. This step is optional. Place 1/4 cup of cranberry juice In a shallow bowl. Set aside. Place 1/4 c of sugar on a plate. Dip the rims of the glasses into the juice. Dip into the sugar coating all sides of rims. Set glasses aside.
  • 2. Place cranberries, water, sugar, lime juice, vodka, orange liquor, cranberry juice, and orange zest in to a blender. Blend on high speed approximately one minute, or until cranberries are pureed.
  • 3. Poor cranberry mixture through a sieve to catch juice in to a pitcher or bowl. You may need a spoon to force some of the juice through. Discard the cranberry remnants that are left over. Store in a pitcher and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • 4. When ready to serve. Place a few ice cubes into a shaker. Add some of the martini mixture. Give it a few vigorous Shakes. and strain into glass. Optional: garnish glass of Martini. Cheers!

COSMOPOLITAN FIZZ-PUNCH

The cosmopolitan, a 90s favorite, meets the 50s classic ginger ale punch in this tasty mash-up. A gorgeous frozen fruit ring keeps the punch cold long into the night. If you can't find fresh cranberries, frozen will work as well.

2 limes, sliced
2 oranges, sliced
1/2 cup whole fresh cranberries
Two 60-ounce bottles cranberry juice
2 cups orange juice
4 cups vodka
2 cups triple sec, such as Cointreau
One 2-liter bottle ginger ale

Steps:

  • Place the lime and orange slices in a large ring mold, layering the slices alternately and sprinkling the cranberries in between each layer. Mix together 3/4 cup each cranberry juice, orange juice and water. Pour the juice mix over the sliced fruit. Freeze until firm, about 6 hours.
  • Mix the remaining cranberry and orange juices with the vodka and orange liqueur in a punch bowl. Just before serving add the ginger ale. Unmold the ice ring and float in the punch. Serve over ice in rocks glasses.

Steps:

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine vodka, cranberry juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, and ice; shake until well combined. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Twist orange peel over cocktail and add to glass. Garnish with skewered cranberries; serve immediately.
