2 c milk chocolate chips (12 ounces)
1 Tbsp shortening
1/2 c raisins
1/2 c slivered almonds, chopped

Steps:

  • 1. In a heavy saucepan or microwave, melt the chocolate chips and shortening over low heat, stirring until smooth.
  • 2. Remove from the heat; stir in raisins and almonds.
  • 3. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto waxed paper. Chill until ready to serve.

This is an old recipe that was handed down to me from an old friend some 25 years ago...My family always ask for this and I am putting here for safe keeping.

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons sour cream
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
6 green onions, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
2 large tomatoes, chopped
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1 (4 ounce) can black olives, sliced (optional)
1 lb ground sirloin, cooked crumbled and drained and let cool
tortilla chips

Steps:

  • Mix cream cheese & sour cream together until smooth. Spread on a large platter. Sprinkle 1/2 of the package of taco seasoning mix over top. Take crumbled cooked ground beef and sprinkle over top of cream cheese layer. Take chopped vegetables and mix in bowl. Layer over beef. Sprinkle rest of taco seasoning mix over top. Layer chedder cheese next. Then 1 tablespoon of sour cream in middle of top. Sprinkle with black olives. Chill at least 1/2 hour. Serve with chips for dipping.

Steps:

  • 1. In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips and shortening, stirring till smooth. Remove from heat, stir in raisins and nuts. Drop by Tablespoons onto wax paper. Chill till set.
  • 2. Can be wrapped individually, and frozen for a later snack or gift. Made in Baraboo, WI. Don't leave WI. with out a couple.. These are to die for! Trust me !

●1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
●1/4 cup cocoa powder
●1/2 teaspoon salt
●2 large eggs, at room temperature
●4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted
● 2/3 cup (one 5 fluid-ounce can) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
●9-inch unbaked pie crust (or use ingredients below and follow directions to make a homemade crust)
●1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
●1 teaspoon granulated sugar
●3/4 teaspoon salt
●1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, chilled and cubed
●1/4 cup ice cold water

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine sugar, cocoa powder, and salt. In separate bowl whisk eggs vigorously; add melted butter and evaporated milk. Whisk egg mixture into sugar mixture to combine until smooth.
  • Pour batter into pie crust and place on a baking sheet. Bake in oven on center rack for 45-55 minutes.
  • Pies will be slightly loose in center when they come out of the oven. Allow the pies to cool completely before serving (about 2 hours).
  • FOR HOMEMADE PIE CRUST: In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add cubed butter and cut in using a pastry cutter or 2 forks until mixture resembles pea size pieces.
  • Measure out ice cold water and add to bowl 1 tablespoon at a time, stirring after each addition.
  • Place pie dough on a lightly floured surface and fold to incorporate flour.
  • Flatten dough out into disc and wrap with plastic wrap; refrigerate for 2 hours or up to 3 days.
  • When ready to make pies, roll out dough with rolling pin on a lightly floured surface.

1-1/2 cup(s) sugar
1/4 cup(s) oil
1 cup(s) milk
1 cup(s) chopped pecans
2 cup(s) packed brown sugar
8 teaspoon(s) cocoa powder
3-1/2 cup(s) boiling water

Steps:

  • Mix flour,baking powder,salt,sugar and cocoa together. Stir in oil,milk, pecans and boiling water. pour into a dutch oven. Mix brown sugar,and 8 teas.cocoa. Sprinkle on top of cake batter. Bake 350 F. 45 min.
