This is a spot-on clone recipe for KFC's Cole Slaw!!! I just love their slaw and I love this recipe & I know you will too!!! The first time I made it, my husband & I ate it for breakfast, lunch & dinner!!!! ENJOY!!!!

8 c finely chopped cabbage (about 1 head)
1/4 c shredded carrot (1 medium carrot)
1/2 c mayonnaise
1/3 c granulated sugar
1/4 c milk (2% or skim)
1/4 c buttermilk
2 1/2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 Tbsp white vinegar or *tarragon wine vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 Tbsp finely minced onion
VINEGAR - HAVE LEARNED FROM RELIABLE SOURCE THAT TARRAGON WINE VINEGAR IS KFC'S SECRET!!!

Steps:

  • 1. Be sure cabbage and carrots are chopped/shredded into very fine pieces (about the size of rice)
  • 2. Combine the mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt & pepper in a large bowl and beat until smooth.
  • 3. Add the cabbage, carrots & onion and mix well.
  • 4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. ENJOY!!!

1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice
Salad:
8 cups very finely chopped cabbage, about the size of rice kernels
1/4 cup shredded and finely chopped carrot, about the size of rice kernels

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine dressing ingredients and beat until smooth. Add the cabbage and carrots and mix well. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
