2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter, softened (or margarine)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 (11 1/2 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chunks, Nestle Toll House Brand is recommended for this recipe
1 cup nuts, chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, sugars and vanilla in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chunks and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
  • PAN COOKIE VARIATION: Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan. Prepare dough as above. Spread into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool in pan on wire rack. Makes 4 dozen bars.

Don't you hate it when you are making your hubby's favourite cookies and you don't have enough oatmeal? Isn't it great when you improvise and use something else,and tah-dah you come up with a new recipe, that is great? That's why these are called "Chuck's Nestle Crunch Cookies"

1 c brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c sugar
1 c margarine
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 c all purpose flour
1/2 c oatmeal, uncooked
1 pkg nestle chocolate chips
1 1/2 c kellogg's rice krispies

Steps:

  • 1. Cream together the sugars with the eggs and margarine. Add vanilla,salt,soda. Cream well.
  • 2. These are all great to mix in the mixer. Add cup of flour one at a time.Then add the oatmeal.
  • 3. Take off mixer.Fold in Chocolate Chips and Rice Krispies. Scoop or spoon cookies onto parchment paper cookie sheets. Flatten cookies a wee bit and throw some Rice Krispies on cookie. Bake for 8-9 minutes in a 350 degree oven. Cool. Yum!
  • 4. (Can be done on ungreased cookie sheets. If my husband wants cookies he makes sure I have parchment paper~ I have gotten spoiled
