3 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 ½ cups mayonnaise
⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ½ cups water
2 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees (175 degrees C). Lightly grease two 9 inch layer pans.
  • Mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, cocoa, and sugar into a large bowl. Stir in mayonnaise. Gradually add water and vanilla and blend until smooth. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 30 minutes. Cool, remove from pans, and frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.

1 cup water
1 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons baking cocoa
2 teaspoons baking soda
BROWN SUGAR FROSTING:
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, cubed
2 tablespoons 2% milk
1-3/4 cups confectioners' sugar

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the water, mayonnaise and vanilla until well blended. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa and baking soda; gradually beat into mayonnaise mixture until blended. , Pour into a greased 9-in. square or 11x7-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely. , For frosting, in a small saucepan, cook and stir the brown sugar in butter until bubbly. Remove from the heat; stir in milk. Gradually add confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. Frost cake.

1-1/2 cups finely chopped dates
1 cup ground walnuts
2 cups flour
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup KRAFT Real Mayo
1-1/4 cups sugar
2 oz. BAKER'S Bittersweet Chocolate, melted
1 tsp. vanilla

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350ºF.
  • Pour boiling water over combined dates and nuts; let stand 10 min.
  • Mix next 4 ingredients. Drain dates and nuts, reserving liquid. Mix mayo, sugar, chocolate, vanilla and reserved liquid in large bowl. Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in dates and nuts. Pour into 13x9-inch pan sprayed with cooking spray.

1 cup real mayonnaise
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups cake flour
1/2 cup Dutch process cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
Confectioners' sugar, for garnish
Sweetened whipped cream, for garnish

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the sugar and mayonnaise until blended. Add the vanilla and blend. Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and add it to the mayonnaise mixture in 3 batches alternating with the buttermilk.
  • Pour into a greased and floured 9 by 9 by 2-inch baking pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
  • Let cool on a wire rack, dust with confectioners' sugar and garnish with whipped cream before serving.

1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
1 cup boiling water
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup white sugar
½ cup butter
2 eggs
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine dates with boiling water. Set aside to cool.
  • Pre heat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13-inch pan.
  • In a medium bowl, mix flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs. Add flour mixture alternating with cooled date mixture. Fold in chopped nuts and 1/2 cup of the chocolate chips to mixture.
  • Spread batter into prepared pan. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup of chocolate chips over top.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into middle of cake comes out clean.
