Number Of Ingredients 13

2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup (packed) golden brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) plus 6 tablespoons chilled unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
2/3 cup sugar
6 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup orange blossom honey
2 teaspoons finely grated orange peel
5 ounces hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup chopped candied orange peel
8 ounces bittersweet chocolate (do not exceed 61% cacao), chopped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line 13 x 9 x 2-inch metal baking pan with foil. Mix flour, brown sugar, and salt in processor 5 seconds. Add 3/4 cup butter; using on/off turns, process until coarse meal forms. Transfer to pan; press firmly and evenly onto bottom of pan. Bake crust until golden, about 20 minutes. Maintain oven temperature.
  • Bring 6 tablespoons butter, 2/3 cup sugar, cream, honey, and finely grated orange peel to boil in heavy small saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves and butter melts. Boil until candy thermometer registers 230°F, about 6 minutes. Stir in nuts and candied orange peel.
  • Spoon hot nut mixture evenly over crust in pan. Return to oven and bake until entire surface is bubbling, about 10 minutes. Cool 20 minutes. Using foil as aid, lift cookie from pan. Carefully peel foil from edges. Cut warm cookie into 1 1/2-inch squares. Cool cookies completely.
  • Line rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or waxed paper. Melt chocolate in small metal bowl set over saucepan of simmering water until warm to touch. Remove bowl from over water. Dip corner or edge of each cookie in melted chocolate and place on prepared baking sheet. Chill until chocolate is set, about 1 hour. DO AHEAD: cookies can be made up to 3 weeks ahead. Store in airtight container in freezer. Bring cookies to room temperature before serving.

1-1/4 cups quick-cooking oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

24 caramels
1/4 cup milk
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Steps:

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat butter, uncovered, on high for 20-30 seconds or until softened. Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda and salt; stir into butter until blended. , Set a third of the mixture aside for topping. Press remaining mixture onto the bottom of an 8-in. square microwave-safe dish. Cook, uncovered, on high for 1-2 minutes or until crust is raised and set (crust will be uneven), rotating a half turn after each minute. , In a 1-qt. microwave-safe dish, heat the caramels and milk, uncovered, on high for 1 minute or until melted and smooth, stirring every minute. Sprinkle chips and nuts if desired over crust. Pour caramel mixture over all. , Sprinkle with reserved oat mixture; press down lightly. Microwave, uncovered, on high for 2-3 minutes or until the caramel is bubbly, rotating a quarter turn every minute. Cool before cutting.

½ cup butter, softened
½ cup brown sugar
2 cups chopped pecans
1 cup flaked coconut
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (11 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels (such as Hershey's®), unwrapped
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Mix flour, butter, and brown sugar together in a bowl; press into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until crust is lightly browned, 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Sprinkle pecans and coconut over crust. Pour sweetened condensed milk over pecans and coconut.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until set, 25 to 30 minutes.

4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces (preferably unsalted)
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs
3/4 cup flour, plus
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup mini chocolate chip (optional)
3/4 cup white sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
3 tablespoons water
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream (unwhipped)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups pecans

Steps:

  • Set oven to 350 degrees.
  • Set the oven rack to the middle postion.
  • Butter and flour a 9-inch baking pan (tap off excess flour in the pan).
  • For the chocolate layer: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, melt the chocolate and the butter over low heat, stirring until smooth; remove the pan from the heat, cool the mixture to lukewarm.
  • Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla.
  • Add in the eggs, one at a time, beating well with a wooden spoon, until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
  • In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and the salt; add to the chocolate mixture, beating JUST until the batter is combined well.
  • Add in the mini chocolate chips (if using).
  • Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  • Bake in the middle of the oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the chocolate layer tests done.
  • Cool completely on a rack.
  • For the caramel-pecan layer: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, bring the sugar, corn syrup, water and a Pinch of salt to a boil, over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  • Then boil the mixture WITHOUT stirring, until the mixture turns a golden caramel.
  • Remove pan from the heat, and carefully add the cream and vanilla (be careful, the mixture will bubble up, and steam).
  • Stir in the pecans, and QUICKLY pour the mixture over the chocolate layer in the pan, spreading evenly.
  • Drizzle melted chocolate over the caramel for garnish if desired.
  • Chill the chocolate-caramel squares, loosely covered, until the caramel if firm (at least 4 hours).
  • Cut into 16 squares.
  • Let the squares come to room temperature before eating.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 6 days.

These are so tasty I can't resist them. These only take a couple of minutes to make, so I put them out when I have company over. If you are already melting chocolate for another recipe, this is a great way to use up the leftover chocolate.

Steps:

  • Grease a rectangular baking tray.
  • Set aside four tablespoons of the flour. Combine the remaing flour, porridge oats, soft brown sugar and bicarbonate of soda in a large bowl.
  • Add the melted butter and mix until the mixture is crumbly.
  • Reserve 115g of the crumb mixture. Press the remaining crumb mixture onto the bottom of the baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Comnbine the toffee fudge sauce and remaining flour in a small bowl, then whisk until smooth. Drizzle over the crust of the crumb mixture in the dish and spread to the edges.
  • Combine the walnuts or pecans with the reserved crumb mixture in a small bowl. Sprinkle the crumb mixture and chocolate chips evenly over the toffee fudge mixture. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove the baking tray from the oven to a cooling rack and cool completely. Enjoy!

1/3 cup butter, room temperature
4 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 (7 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
4 ounces quality dark chocolate chips
1 ounce quality white chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Add all ingredients for crust, except butter, in a mixing bowl.
  • With pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.
  • Press the mixture into an 8-inch square cake pan.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 25 minutes or until just golden and firm.
  • Cool in the pan.
  • Place ingredients for caramel filling in saucepan and heat over low heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
  • Bring to a boil over low heat and boil very gently for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring constantly until thickened.
  • Pour the caramel filling over cookie base and allow to set.
  • Melt the dark chocolate chips and spread over the caramel, allow to cool and set.
  • When dark chocolate is set, melt the white chocolate and drizzle over top.
  • Cut into squares and enjoy.
  • DH suggested to use a pizza cutter to cut bar cookies and it works like a charm.

1/3 c packed brown sugar
1/2 c softened butter
1 large egg
4oz block of light cream cheese softened
3/4 c caramel ice cream topping
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c chopped walnuts or pecans
1 c milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Combine flour and brown sugar in med bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Transfer 2/3 c to small bowl. Press remainder firmly in ungreased 9x9 pan. Beat egg and cream cheese in med bowl. Add caramel topping and vanilla. Beat. Stir in reserved crumb mixture. Add walnuts. Stir. Spoon over crust. Bake 375 for about 35 min until golden. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let stand until melted. Spread. Cool.
