Chili-Lime Chex® Mix image

The zest of lime meets a punch of chili, garlic, onion and cayenne in a corny crunchy cereal mix.

8 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
1 cup corn nuts
1 cup bite-size cheese crackers
1 cup mini pretzel twists
1 cup corn chips
6 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 teaspoon lime zest
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • In large microwavable bowl, mix cereal, corn nuts, crackers, pretzels and corn chips. Set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in lime juice, lime zest and seasonings. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated.
  • Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, stirring thoroughly every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.

Chili Lime Fruit Salad image

Number Of Ingredients 7

3 cups cubed pineapple
3 cups cubed watermelon
2 kiwis, peeled, quartered, and sliced
Half a papaya, seeds and skin removed, cut into bite-sized pieces
6 ounces blueberries
1 tablespoon lime zest and 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 to 2 limes)
1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Steps:

  • Add all the cut fruit to a large serving bowl. Add the lime zest, juice, and chili powder to a small bowl and whisk to combine. Pour the chili-lime mixture over the fruit and toss to combine. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

3 cups crisp corn cereal, such as Corn Chex
3 cups crisp wheat cereal, such as Wheat Chex
3 cups crisp rice cereal, such as Rice Chex
2 cups pretzel sticks
2 cups mixed nuts
1 to 1 1/2 sticks (8 to 12 tablespoons) salted butter
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon seasoned salt, such as Lawry's
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
6 to 12 dashes hot sauce, such as Tabasco
3 to 5 cloves garlic, mashed

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
  • Dump the corn, wheat and rice cereal into a large mixing bowl. Add the pretzel sticks and nuts.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, add the butter, Worcestershire, seasoned salt, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, hot sauce and garlic and microwave until the butter is melted. Stir together and toss into the cereal mixture, stirring as you go.
  • Transfer the mixture to 1 or 2 baking sheets and bake for 1 hour 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool and store in an airtight container.
  • Grab a handful every 40 minutes. Eat. Spoil your appetite.

Chile-Lime Rub image

1 tablespoon chile powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon sugar
Zest of 1 lime

Steps:

  • Mix together the chile powder, salt, cumin, cayenne, coriander, sugar and lime zest in a bowl. This spice mix not only goes great with chicken and pork, but also to rim a spicy margarita.

1 package (16 ounces) corn chips
1 can (11-1/2 ounces) mixed nuts
1 package (11 ounces) pretzel sticks
1 package (6.6 ounces) Goldfish cheddar crackers
1 cup butter, cubed
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, combine corn chips, nuts, pretzels and crackers. In a small saucepan, bring butter, brown sugar, garlic powder and chili powder to a boil. Remove from heat; stir in baking soda. Pour over snack mixture and toss to coat. , Transfer to three greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly toasted. Cool completely on wire racks. Store in airtight containers.
