CHEESESTEAK STROMBOLI

Cheesesteak Stromboli image

My husband loves cheesesteaks and stromboli. I make this often as an appetizer or for a quick dinner on a busy night served along with soup.

Time 32m

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 8

cooking spray
1 (21 ounce) package frozen beef sandwich steaks
1 small onion, diced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 (13.8 ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough (such as Pillsbury®)
½ pound American cheese, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Grease a skillet with cooking spray and set over medium heat. Break up sandwich steaks by hand and add to the skillet; cook and stir until golden brown, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess grease. Stir in onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Unroll pizza dough onto a flat work surface; stretch into a 12-inch square. Spread a thin layer of beef mixture on one end, leaving a 1-inch border on the sides. Tear 4 slices of American cheese in half and lay on top. Roll up the dough, pinching the sides together. Repeat layering and rolling until all the beef mixture and cheese is used up.
  • Seal the top of the roll; transfer to an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until top is golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting into 1-inch slices.

PHILLY CHEESESTEAK STROMBOLI

Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli image

This is a variation of the recipe submitted by Chef #844314 for the Poor Boy Stromboli (http://www.recipezaar.com/304802). The SO absolutely loves those Dominos Philly Cheesesteak pizzas®, so I decided to modify Chef #844314's recipe to incorporate the flavors of the pizza. The outcome is, in my humble opinion, delicious! Sorry the picture came out a bit blurry, but you get the idea.

Time 1h20m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 refrigerated pizza crust
1/2 lb roast beef, sliced
1/2 lb provolone cheese, sliced
1 yellow onion, sliced
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon butter, melted
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Melt 2 tablespoons butter in large skillet and add sliced onions, salt and pepper. Saute for about 5 mins, just as they start to turn translucent.
  • Add green pepper and saute for another 4-5 minutes.
  • Add mushrooms and continue to saute for another 3-4 minutes then take off heat and set aside.
  • Lay Pizza Crust out on Countertop and roll out so its about 1/4 inch thick all the way around and square in shape.
  • Layer cheese on pizza crust leaving about 2 inches from each side.
  • Layer roast beef leaving same amount of space on each side.
  • Layer onions, peppers, and mushrooms onto roast beef, again leaving 2 inches on each side.
  • Starting at the edge closest to you, start to roll the dough tightly until all the toppings are enclosed in the middle, and seal the seam along the bottom and on the ends by pinching the dough together.
  • Brush the top of the dough with the melted butter, and cut a few slits in the top of the dough to let moisture escape.
  • Put loaf on baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  • Let stand about 10 minutes before cutting to keep the cheese from running out all over the place.
  • Enjoy!

PHILLY CHEESESTEAK STROMBOLI

Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli image

Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 30 mins | Total Time: 45 mins A big thanks to my dear friend, Pia, for recommending this recipe. I am so glad

Provided by @MakeItYours

Number Of Ingredients 10

2 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 pound ground beef
½ onion, chopped
1 (8 ounces) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 (8 ounces) bottle Parmesan-peppercorn dressing, divided
1 (13.8 ounces) can refrigerated pizza dough
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Instructions Prepare the oven and preheat to 218 degrees C or 425 degrees F. Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add the beef, then cook until crumbly and brown. Add the garlic, onion, and bell pepper. Sauté until aromatic and soft. Discard any excess grease. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined. Apply cooking spray to a rimmed baking sheet, then add the dough in it and unroll. Gently press it into the baking sheet. Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese over the dough, then spread the beef mixture over the cheese. Sprinkle more cheese on top of the beef mixture, then drizzle ¼ cup of dressing. Roll the dough towards the other side, then pinch the sides to seal them. Place it into the prepared baking sheet, then create shallow cuts, 1-inch apart. Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for at least 10 minutes at room temperature. Slice into even pieces. Serve with the dressing. Enjoy!
