CREAM CHEESE/CHUTNEY APPETIZER
My neighbor shared this easy-to-make appetizer with me, and it's been a hit whenever I've served it. I took it to our family reunion last summer and it quickly disappeared! I love it because it's simple, yet tasty.

- Press softened cream cheese into oiled mold of desired shape. (For easy removal, spray mold with cooking spray and line with plastic wrap if desired.) , Unmold on chilled plate. Pour chutney over mold; sprinkle with onions. Ring plate with crackers (buttery crackers are especially good with this appetizer). Serve immediately.

Steps:
- Combine pastry dry ingredients in a food processor. Pulse in butter 10 seconds, then water for 10 seconds. Form into a ball and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Roll pastry in a 12x12 rectangle. Cut into nine even squares. Cover and set aside while preparing filling.
- For filling, beat together cheese and yolk until combined. Add preserves and mix well. Spoon equal amounts of mixture onto each pastry square.
- Moisten edges of pastry with water. Fold to form a triangle and seal edges with the tines of a fork. Brush with egg white and dust with sugar.
- Cut 2-3 air vents in the top of each turnover. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
- For icing, beat sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Place icing in a sandwich baggie, nip off 1/8" of one corner. Squeeze icing over warm turnovers.

CHEDDAR & CHUTNEY GRILLED CHEESE
Steps:
- Lay 6 slices of the bread on a cutting board and brush each slice generously with the butter. Turn the slices over and spread each one with 1 1/2 tablespoons of the chutney. Place 1/2 cup of the Cheddar evenly on each slice and place the remaining 6 slices of bread on top of each sandwich. Brush the tops generously with melted butter.
- Heat a panini press (see Cook's Note) and grill the sandwiches according to the directions for the machine, until the bread is nicely browned on both sides and the Cheddar is starting to melt.
- Place the sandwiches on a cutting board and cut each one in half diagonally. Serve hot.
