1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup quick oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1 cup walnuts, chopped
20 caramels, unwrapped
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (20 ounce) can apple pie filling

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375.
  • In large bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. Cut in the butter until crumbly.
  • Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the crumb mixture and press the remainder into a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Bake 15 minutes.
  • Add walnuts to the reserved crumb mixture.
  • In saucepan, over low heat, melt the caramels with the condensed milk. Stir until smooth.
  • Spoon apple filling over the prepared crust.
  • top with the caramel mixture and sprinkle the remaining crumbs on top.
  • bake 20 minutes or until set.
  • Cool.

3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 cup old-fashioned oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
3 cups chopped unpeeled apples (2 medium)
3/4 cup caramel topping
1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
Vanilla or cinnamon ice cream, if desired
Additional caramel topping, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with shortening. In large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar with electric mixer on medium speed until well mixed. Beat in 1 cup flour, the oats, cinnamon, baking soda and pecans until well blended and crumbly. Press half of the crumbly mixture in bottom of pan to form crust. Reserve remaining crumbly mixture for topping.
  • Spread apples over crust in pan. In 1-quart saucepan, heat 3/4 cup caramel topping and 1/4 cup flour to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil about 1 minute, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened. Drizzle over apples. Sprinkle with reserved crumbly mixture.
  • Bake 35 to 45 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool 30 minutes before serving. Top with ice cream and additional caramel topping.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 medium apple, peeled and chopped
3/4 cup walnuts

Steps:

  • set oven to 350 degrees.
  • grease a 8-in square baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar; add the egg.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon; gradually add to the creamed mixture, beating just until combined.
  • Stir in the apple and walnuts.
  • Pour batter into greased baking dish.
  • Bake for 30-35 mins, or until cake test done.

2 cups quick-cooking oats
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup caramel topping
3 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 medium apple, peeled, chopped (1 cup)
1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. In large bowl, beat 2 cups flour, the oats, brown sugar, baking soda, salt and butter with electric mixer on low speed, or mix with spoon, until crumbly. Press about 3 cups of the mixture in pan. Bake 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, in small bowl, mix caramel topping and 3 tablespoons flour. Sprinkle apple and pecans over partially baked crust. Drizzle with caramel mixture. Sprinkle with remaining crust mixture.
  • Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, about 1 hour 30 minutes. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows.
