Steps:
- In a large bowl, mix sugar, eggs, shortening, and vanilla thoroughly. Add flour, salt, and baking soda to creamed mixture. Blend well. Add 3/4 cup candies.
- Drop dough by teaspoonful onto baking sheet. Slightly push a few candies on top of each dough ball with remaining candies.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 9 to 11 minutes.

MILK CHOCOLATE CANDY COOKIES

Steps:
- Heat oven to 375°F. Empty cookie mix into large bowl. Break up lumps in mix with spoon. Stir in oil and egg until soft dough forms.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown. Immediately place 1 chocolate candy on each cookie, pressing down so that cookie cracks around the edge.
- Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely; store in airtight container as soon as cooled.

OATMEAL MM COOKIES
This is one of my favorite cookie recipes. The almond extract gives the cookie a unique flavor that makes them, in my opinion, a little better than the rest. Because I like these cookies so much, I usually make them twice their normal size.

- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the shortening, brown sugar and white sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well blended. Combine the oats, flour, baking powder and salt; stir into the creamed mixture. Mix in the candy-coated chocolate pieces. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until light golden brown.
