1 (18 1/4 ounce) dark chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
1/3 cup dark brown sugar (if you like a less sweeter taste use 1/4 cup)
1/4 cup water
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or 3/4 cup chocolate chips
frosting, of you choice

Steps:

  • Set oven to 375 degrees (second-lowest rack).
  • Grease an 11x7 or a 13x9-inch baking pan (the brownies baked in a 13x9 pan will not be as high).
  • In a large bowl using an electric mixer beat all ingredients except walnuts or chocolate chips until smooth (the batter will be thick).
  • Add in walnuts of chocolate chips mix to combine.
  • Spread into the prepared baking dish (the batter will be very thick so have patience!).
  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes (do not overbake).
  • Cool completely before frosting.

3/4 cup butter, melted
1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk, divided

1 package yellow cake mix (regular size)
1 large egg, room temperature
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon butter, softened, divided
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 package (11-1/2 ounces) milk chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line a 13x9-in. baking pan with parchment; grease paper. In a large bowl, beat chocolate cake mix, melted butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk until blended; batter will be thick. Reserve 1/4 cup batter for topping. Spread remaining batter into prepared pan. Bake 6 minutes. Meanwhile, in a microwave, melt caramel bits and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk; stir until smooth. 1 cup crunchy peanut butter
8 tablespoons butter, melted
2 large eggs

  • 1) Place rack in the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F Set aside ungreased 13 by 9 inch metal baking pan.
  • 2) Place the brownie mix, peanut butter, butter and eggs in a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute. Stop the machine and scrape down the side of the bowl with a rubber spatula. The mixture will be thick. Set aside about 1 ½ cups for the topping. Place the remaining brownie mixture in the baking pan, pressing it over the bottom of the pan with your fingertips so that it reaches all sides. Set pan aside.
  • 3) Place the chocolate chips and condensed milk in a medium size microwave-safe glass bowl and microwave on high power for 1 minute. Pour the chocolate mixture into the baking pan, spreading it evenly with the rubber spatula so that it reaches the sides of the pan. Using your fingertips, crumble the reserved topping and scatter it over the chocolate mixture. Place the pan in the oven.
  • 4) Bake the brownies until the edges have set and the top crust springs back when lightly pressed with a finger, 28 to 32 minutes. Transfer the baking pan to a wire rack and let the brownies cool for 20 minutes before cutting them into bars and serve.

I found this simple recipe on the back of a chocolate chip package, and they are fantastic! I mixed butterscotch, bourdeaux syrup and caramel sauce for mine, however, one of the three would work as well. **NOTE: Be sure the caramel or butterscotch you use is the thickest one you can find. If you use a thin one, it will cause problems when setting.

These brownies are so easy because they are start with a cake mix! I've tried making brownies before with a cake mix, but I've never had much luck until finding this recipe.

1 (18 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, softened
1 egg
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Spray a 13X9-inch pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine cake mix, milk, butter, and eggs with an electric mixer.
  • Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts (batter will be VERY thick).
  • Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 20-30 minutes, until brownies are done.
  • Cool completely and cut into squares.

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 eggs, beaten
1 (15 ounce) container betty crocker rich and creamy coconut pecan frosting (or Coconut Pecan Frosting Coconut pecan frosting by Christmas)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat your oven to 350.
  • Melt 2°C chocolate chips and the butter in a 3 quart Saucepan over low heat, stir constantly; remove fromt he heat and stir in the sugar, flour, vanilla, baking powder, salt& eggs.
  • Mix until just combined.
  • Spread batter in an ungreased rectangular pan (13x9x2).
  • Bake 27 to 34 minutes until center is set, cool completely.
  • Mix your (cool) frosting recipe with the 1°C Chocolate chips (you can add more pecans if you like).
  • Spread over the cooled brownies.
