1 teaspoon onion powder

1 ¼ teaspoons dried thyme
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Stir together salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, onion powder, cayenne pepper, oregano, thyme, and red pepper flakes until evenly blended. Store in an airtight container.

ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS FOR CAJUN POTATO WEDGES:
4 medium sweet potatoes or baking potatoes (about 3 pounds)
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 to 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the first seven ingredients. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months. Yield: about 1/4 cup., To prepare Cajun Potato Wedges: Cut each potato into eight wedges. In a large bowl, combine oil, hot pepper sauce and 2 tablespoons seasoning mix. Add potatoes; stir to coat evenly. Place in a greased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 450° for 15 minutes; turn. Bake 8-10 minutes longer or until the potatoes are tender.

If you like a little spice in your snacks this recipe is for you. I make this year around for camping and snacking but especially at Christmas for gift giving.

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 cup butter or 1 cup margarine
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon red cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
5 cups small pretzels
4 cups corn chips
4 cups Wheat Chex
4 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
3 cups mixed nuts or 3 cups peanuts

Steps:

  • Melt butter in medium saucepan.
  • Add everything but cereals, pretzels, cheerios and nuts to butter.
  • Heat to just below boiling.
  • Mix together cereals, pretzels and nuts in large roasting pan.
  • Pour butter mixture over gradually mixing all together.
  • Bake@ 300 degrees for 45 minutes stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Cool and store in plastic bags.
  • This freezes well.

2 cups cone-shaped corn snacks (such as Bugles®)
2 cups cheese-flavored crackers (such as Cheez-It®)
2 cups small pretzels
1 cup crispy corn cereal squares (such as Corn Chex®)
1 cup mini shredded wheat cereal squares
1 cup pecan halves
½ cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
¾ teaspoon Cajun seasoning
¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).
  • Combine cone-shaped corn snacks, cheese crackers, pretzels, corn cereal squares, mini shredded wheat squares, and pecan halves in a large bowl. Whisk butter, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, Cajun seasoning, and cayenne pepper in a separate bowl. Pour butter mixture over snack mixture and toss lightly to coat.
