I remember these from my junior high school cafeteria, every Friday without fail! I still hate tuna but now I can at least make up for that with a substitution!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 (16 ounce) can tuna fish (or chicken or deviled ham)
1/2 lb cubed cheese, american or cheddar
3 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped green peppers
2 tablespoons chopped onions
2 tablespoons chopped olives
2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1/2 cup mayonnaise
8 hot dog buns

Steps:

  • Mix all together but the buns.
  • Split buns half way thru and fill evenly with mixture.
  • Wrap each in foil.
  • Bake at 325 for 20 minutes.

How would you know from the name that this is a sandwich or better--in a hotdog roll? My mom made these when I was little, and I continued with my kids. They are a hot treat and just taste so good from time to time.

1 (7 ounce) can tuna (crumbled up)
3 hard-boiled eggs (chopped medium fine)
4 slices American cheese (cubed)
2 tablespoons green peppers (chopped)
2 tablespoons onions (minced)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
6 hot dog buns

Steps:

  • Mix all of the above together and mix well.
  • Spread into hotdog rolls.
  • Wrap individually in aluminum foil.
  • Place on a baking sheet and bake in a 250 degree oven for 30 minutes.

1 doz small rolls

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and make sandwiches with rolls. Wrap sandwiches in aluminum foil and bake for 30 min at 325.
