BRAISED PORK AND VEGETABLE STEW
This braised pork stew is warming and comforting! Great over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice.

Steps:
- Heat oil in a Dutch oven over medium heat. Add pork; cook and stir until browned, 6 to 8 minutes. Remove to a dish.
- Add cabbage, onion, carrots, celery, and garlic to the hot pot; saute for 10 minutes. Add pork back to the pot with chicken stock, cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer until pork is tender, 30 to 40 minutes.
- Whisk water and cornstarch in a small bowl; pour into the stew. Cook and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes.

- Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper; add 3 tablespoons flour and toss to coat. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Brown pork. Drain if necessary. Stir in vegetables, broth, garlic, mustard and thyme. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, until pork and vegetables are tender, 10-15 minutes., In a small bowl, mix remaining flour and water until smooth; stir into stew. Return to a boil, stirring constantly; cook and stir until thickened, 1-2 minutes.

- Heat oil in a 5 to 6 quart pot over medium-high heat. Season the pork with salt and pepper and coat with flour.
- Cook pork 4 minutes until browned , turning once , remove to a plate.
- Add broth , apples , potatoes , carrots and thyme to pot and bring to a boil. Cover , reduce heat and simmer 12 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Stir in pork and mustard. Cover and simmer 4 to 5 minutes or until pork is just cooked thru.
COLA-BRAISED PORK STEW
Steps:
- Heat oil in large pot over high heat. Add half of pork; sauté until brown on all sides, about 8 minutes. Transfer pork to bowl. Repeat with remaining pork. Return pork to pot. Turn off heat and pour cola slowly into pot. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer 30 minutes. Add garlic, soy sauce, ginger, and half of green onions. Cover and simmer until pork is tender, about 50 minutes longer. Uncover and simmer until sauce is slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Season stew with salt and pepper. Transfer to bowl; sprinkle with remaining green onions.
