The BLT restaurant chain (BLT Prime, BLT Fish, BLT Steak) serve up these amazing cheddar and chive biscuits with softened, sweet cream butter in a little maple syrup with sea salt atop. They are amazing and this is the copycat recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 tablespoons shortening
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon chives, chopped
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1 1/4 cups cream

Steps:

  • Mix flour, baking powder, salt and cayenne together.
  • Cut shortening and butter into the flour but don't overwork - small butter pieces are fine.
  • Toss in chives and cheddar.
  • Toss in cream until it starts to come together but don't mix too much.
  • Bake at 375°F for 15 - 17 minutes and serve with sea salted butter and maple syrup.

Yield 10 biscuits.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons minced fresh chives
1 cup buttermilk

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425°. In a large bowl, whisk the first five ingredients. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; stir in cheese and chives. Add buttermilk; stir just until moistened. Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead gently 8-10 times., Pat or roll dough to 3/4-in. thickness; cut with a floured 2-1/2-in. biscuit cutter. Place 2 in. apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm.
