The Kentucky Derby meets Cinco de Mayo in this refreshing blackberry-mint julep margarita cocktail. Garnish each drink with a blackberry and a sprig of mint, if desired.

6 leaves fresh mint, plus more for garnish
1 ounce bourbon whiskey
1 ounce tequila
1 ounce lime juice
1 teaspoon agave nectar
ice

Steps:

  • Muddle blackberries and mint in a shaker. Add bourbon, tequila, lime juice, and agave nectar.
  • Fill shaker with ice. Shake and strain into two julep glasses filled with fresh ice.

ice cubes, or as needed
1 ½ (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers gold tequila
2 (1.5 fluid ounce) jiggers sweet and sour mix
½ lime, juiced
1 packet artificial sweetener (such as Splenda®)
6 fresh blackberries

Steps:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add tequila, sweet and sour mix, lime juice, sweetener, and blackberries. Put lid on shaker and shake.
  • Fill margarita glasses with ice. Pour cocktail into glasses.

Number Of Ingredients 6

3 1/2 cups blackberries, plus more for garnish
3/4 cup silver tequila
3/4 cup superfine sugar
1/3 cup orange-flavored liqueur (such as Grand Marnier)
2 teaspoons finely grated lime zest, plus 1/3 cup fresh lime juice (from 4 limes)
Mezcal, for topping (optional)

Steps:

  • Combine the blackberries, 2/3 cup water, the tequila, sugar, orange liqueur and lime zest and juice in a blender. Blend until smooth and the sugar dissolves.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large bowl or liquid measuring cup, pressing it through with a rubber spatula. Churn in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer?s instructions until thick and slushy.
  • Pour into glasses and top each with 1/2 to 1 teaspoon mezcal. Garnish with blackberries.

I usually like sweeter 'girly' drinks but enjoyed this one that's a little more potent than what I usually try. I would think that you could use any type of liqueur instead of blackberry. Maybe a midori, or creme de cacao. Try whatever you have on hand.

1 oz blue curacao
1 oz fresh lime juice
1 oz blackerry liqueur

  • 1. Half fill a shaker with ice cubes.
  • 2. Add tequila, blue curaçao, lime juice and blackberry liqueur and shake. Strain ingredients into a chilled cocktail or highball glass.

16 large fresh blackberries, divided
4 small fresh thyme sprigs, divided
6 tablespoons 100% blue agave silver tequila
1/4 cup Simple Syrup
3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon Cointreau or other orange liqueur
2 cups ice cubes, divided
1/4 cup chilled sparkling wine

Steps:

  • Place 14 blackberries and 2 thyme sprigs in medium bowl. Press firmly on solids with muddler or back of wooden spoon until mashed. Mix in tequila, simple syrup, lime juice, and Cointreau, then 1 cup ice. Stir to blend well. Strain into large glass measuring cup. Mix in sparkling wine. Divide remaining ice between 2 tall glasses. Pour Margarita mixture over. Garnish each with 1 blackberry and 1 thyme sprig.
