BLACKBERRY MINT MULE

3 ounces lime juice
1/3 cup mint leaves, plus 3 mint sprigs, for garnish
2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh ginger
15 blackberries
6 ounces vodka
12 ounces ginger beer

Steps:

  • Add the lime juice, mint leaves, ginger and 9 of the blackberries to a cocktail shaker. Muddle until the mint breaks down into small flecks, the blackberries into small pieces and the ginger into pieces half their original size.
  • Add the vodka and some ice to the shaker; shake until combined. Strain into three Mason jars. Pour 4 ounces of the ginger beer over each cocktail. Garnish with a mint sprig and 2 blackberries held together with a toothpick.

1 1/2 ounces vodka
6 ounces ginger beer

Steps:

  • Muddle the blackberries with 1 of the lime wedges in a cocktail shaker. Add the vodka and some ice and shake well. Strain into a copper mug filled with ice. Top off with ginger beer and garnish with the remaining lime wedge.

Just when this crowd-pleasing berry drink heats things up-hi there, ginger beer-it starts to cool things down, thanks to muddled cucumber and mint.

Number Of Ingredients 8

3 ripe blackberries
2 cucumber slices, 1/4 inch thick
10 fresh mint leaves
2 ounces vodka
3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
1/2 ounce 1:1 simple syrup (see note)
2 1/2 ounces ginger beer
GARNISH: mint sprig and cucumber wheel

Steps:

  • Muddle blackberries, cucumber, and mint in the smaller half of a cocktail shaker. Add vodka, lemon juice, and simple syrup and fill with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 12 seconds. Double-strain into an ice-filled collins glass, pour the ginger beer down the side of the glass, and give it a brief, gentle stir. Garnish with mint sprig and cucumber wheel, plus a straw if you have one.
