No this is not a root beer float( some people call the root beer float a black cow -not.) My grandmother used to make these for me when I would visit her in the summertime on vacation! This recipe is from 1949.

- 1. Place syrup in a tall glass. Add coca-cola and cream; stir; add ice cream and serve with a straw.
- 2. Lavern & Shirley Drink Pour equal amounts of pepsi and milk in a tall glass- stir and drink.

I was introduced to these as a very young child and have always loved them. These days I seldom think of making them, but when I do--wow, what a treat! - 1. In a tall glass place three or four scoops ice cream, one at a time, alternating with pouring Coke over each scoop. Place a scoop of ice cream, pour a little Coke over it, and repeat until glass is full.
- 2. Be sure the Coke has been refrigerated and is very cold. This will make little ice crystals on the ice cream and make it all the more yummy! Enjoy!
