Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1-1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 medium)
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup baking cocoa

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla. Stir in the bananas. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well. , Divide batter in half. Add cocoa to half; spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Spoon remaining batter on top and, if desired, swirl with a knife to marble batter. , Bake at 350° until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 c bananas
1 1/2 c all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 c cocoa powder

Steps:

  • 1. In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla then beat until smooth and fluffy. Add the bananas and beat until they are mashed. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt then add to creamed mixture. Divide batter in half then add cocoa to half of the batter. Spread cocoa part into a greased 9 x 13 in. pan. Spoon remaining batter on top and at this point you can put nuts or chocolate chips on top. Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. After it has cooled you can cut into bars.
