2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons onion salt
1 quart vegetable oil for frying
4 large onions, peeled and sliced into rings

Steps:

  • Whisk together eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, and onion salt in a bowl to make a smooth batter.
  • Heat the oil in a large saucepan or deep fryer until a thermometer reads 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Dip the onion rings evenly into the batter, then fry in the oil for 2 to 3 minutes, working in batches if necessary, until the onion rings are golden brown. With a slotted spoon, remove the onion rings to paper towels to drain. Serve hot.

OK here is a very simple recipe that makes the best and crunchiest onion rings ever. you will be making these over and over again they are better than any restaurant you have ever eaten yes they are that good and best of all they are simple to make.

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cornstarch
2 tablespoons instant mashed potatoes
1 cup club soda
peanut oil
2 -3 cups panko breadcrumbs (Japanese-style breadcrumbs)
salt
2 -3 yellow onions

Steps:

  • Combine flour, cornstarch, instant potatoes, and club soda in a bowl stir well and let sit for about ten minuets.
  • place 2-3 cups Panko in a pan or bowl for dredging.
  • cut onions into 1/4 size rings and separate.
  • heat oil to 350 degrees.
  • dredge onion rings in batter then coat with Panko.
  • fry onion rings 2-3 minuets flipping half way or until golden brown remove from oil and season with salt.

2 onions , sliced into 1cm/1/2in-thick rounds
400ml buttermilk
140g plain flour
½ tsp cayenne pepper
vegetable oil , for deep-frying
50g cornflour
150ml lager
flaked sea salt , to serve

Steps:

  • Put the onions in a large bowl, pour over the buttermilk and cover with cling film. Leave to soak at room temperature for 30 mins to 1 hr.
  • Put 100g of the plain flour on a large plate and stir in the cayenne with a little seasoning. Drain the onion rings, then coat in the seasoned flour.
  • Half-fill a large saucepan with the oil and heat until it reaches 180C on a probe thermometer (or until a piece of bread crisps in 20-30 secs) or heat a deep fat fryer to 180C. Make the batter by combining the remaining plain flour with the cornflour and a pinch of salt. Make a well in the centre and pour in the lager. Stir to combine until smooth.
  • Dip each onion ring in the batter and fry for 3-4 mins or until crisp. Drain on kitchen paper and sprinkle with the salt.

2 cups oil for frying, or as needed
1 large red onion, sliced and separated into rings
¼ cup seasoned salt
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
salt to taste

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or heavy skillet to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C).
  • Place the onion rings in a bag or bowl. Mix together the seasoned salt and flour, and pour in with the onion. Fry in the hot oil until lightly golden brown. You may need to gently stir the rings as the fry to brown them evenly. Drain on paper towels, and season with salt to taste.

These onion rings are nice and crispy and have just a hint of sweetness to them. I love salty and sweet togather. I didnt give any measurements .Just several bowls of stuff, an assembly line for onion rings. Sounds like alot of work but it is well worth it in the end.

2 yellow or white onions cut in thick pieces
1 bowl of water to soak sliced onions
1 bowl of all purpose flour
1 bowl of melted vanilla ice cream
1 bowl of cormeal/corn flour half and half mixture

Steps:

  • 1. make your assembly line in the order i listed them
  • 2. after slicing onions place them in water
  • 3. shake off excess water and coat with flour
  • 4. shake off excess flour and place in melted ice cream
  • 5. then coat the onion with cornmeal mixture
  • 6. lay them out 20 min to dry
  • 7. fry in oil around 350 degrees for about 4-5 min or until golden brown.
