These meatballs are a copy of a dish served at one of our favorite restaurants.

1 pound lean ground beef
⅔ cup evaporated milk
2 (1 ounce) packages dry onion soup mix
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 cup ketchup
½ cup packed brown sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to broil.
  • In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine hamburger, milk, onion soup mix, and Worcestershire sauce. Roll the mixture into small balls. Arrange meatballs on a cookie sheet. Broil for 10 minutes, or until cooked through.
  • In a small bowl, mix ketchup and brown sugar. Transfer mixture to a slow cooker. Add the meatballs to the slow cooker.
  • Cook meatballs on high for approximately 30 minutes.

I don't know if it's the "extra ingedient" I add, or my homemade meatball recipe, but I'm the one everyone always asks to make them! So sharing my recipe with you all! It's just the ever-still-popular one, but according to my friends and family, just a little touch better! Enjoy! (photo from bing images)

MEATBALLS:
2 1/2 lbs. fresh ground beef, find a pkg. close to this or can be a little smaller is fine
1 cup dry italian breadcrumbs
1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
1/2 cup milk
1 Tbl. dried onion
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
coarse ground pepper
SAUCE:
1 (16 oz.) jar grape jelly
1 (12 oz.) bottle heinz chili sauce
1 Tbl. sweet baby rays barbeque sauce, original flavor

Steps:

  • 1. In large bowl, beat eggs, mix in rest of meatball ingredients with your hands well. Form into 40-45 meatballs.
  • 2. Place them on lightly oiled foil-lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle tops lightly with coarse ground pepper. Bake in 400º oven for 22-24 minutes or til done inside.
  • 3. Remove to paper towel-lined bowl. In large deep frying pan, add sauce ingredients. Heat over medium heat, whisking, until jelly has melted and all is combined.
  • 4. Add meatballs, stir to coat. Simmer in sauce on LOW for 1 minute, stirring.
  • 5. Transfer to a crock pot that has been preheated to low.
  • 6. Serve with toothpicks in a glass on the side for guests to pick.
  • 7. *You can also serve these over cooked rice as a main dish. Drizzle rice with some of the extra sauce, top with meatballs, garnish with fresh finely chopped parsley and serve hot. Serves 6-8.

These cocktail meatballs have the most addictive sauce EVER. It's sweet, smoky, and salty, and your guests won't be able to stop eating them.

1 lb. ground beef
2 large eggs
1/2 c. breadcrumbs
1/4 medium onion, finely chopped
1/4 c. freshly chopped parsley, plus more for garnish
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
2 c. canned cranberry sauce
1 c. barbecue sauce
1/2 c. sweet chili sauce
2 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Pinch red pepper flakes
Kosher salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350º and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, stir together ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, onion, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper. Form 16 meatballs, about 1" to 2" in diameter. Place in an even layer on prepared baking sheet and bake 10 minutes. Flip meatballs and bake 10 minutes more, until golden. Meanwhile, make sauce: in a large skillet over medium heat, combine cranberry sauce, barbecue sauce, chili sauce, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk until smooth and season with red pepper flakes and salt. When mixture is smooth, add meatballs to skillet. Cook, basting with the sauce, until sauce is thickened and coating meatballs. Garnish with parsley and serve.
