BEEF-CAPER PATTIES WITH BARBECUE SAUCE



Beef-Caper Patties with Barbecue Sauce image

Number Of Ingredients 11

3 pounds ground beef extra-lean
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 (3 1/2-ounce) bottle capers drained
1/2 onion large, minced
3 tablespoons Dijon style mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
2 cups barbecue sauce

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients except barbecue sauce, blending well. Form into 12 patties. Make an indentation in center of each and fill with barbecue sauce. Cover with wax paper or foil and refrigerate until ready to cook. 2. Place patties on greased grill over hot coals. Lower hood and cook without turning until desired doneness.Note: Can be frozen for later use.

1 egg large
1 pound ground beef
1 slice bread torn in small pieces
1/4 cup onion finely chopped
2 tablespoons capers drained
1 tablespoon Dijon style mustard each, catsup and Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup steak sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat broiler. Spray broiler pan and rack with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, beat egg. Add beef, bread, onion, capers, mustard, catsup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper and mix well. Shape into four 3-inch patties. 2. Place on broiler rack. Broil 6 inches from heat source for 10 minutes for medium or until desired doneness. (It is not necessary to turn burgers over during cooking.) Serve with steak sauce.
